Bible Verse Thursday Challenge and ODBD Sneak Peek!!
Happy Thursday, everyone!!! Time for another Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts! This week's challenge is similar to an inspiration challenge. I was recently reading about John The Baptist in Matthew and thought he would be a wonderful inspirational theme for Bible Verse Thursday. John states in Matthew 3:30, "He must increase, but I must decrease." These words have always stuck in my head, especially when my world gets wrapped around me instead of the Lord.....this verse is always an attitude adjustment for me. Now, as far as paper-crafting, the same applies. Sometimes we get all wrapped up in the pretty papers and popular doo-dads and His message gets a little lost. So, for today, the challenge theme of "John, The Baptist" may be used in many ways....here are some examples:Less is More (create a project with less embellishments and more focus on His word),since John the Baptist wore skins, use something fuzzy or furry on your project;he was also known to live in the wilderness and eat locusts and honey...incorporate something from these attributes;John baptized many, including our Savior.....create a project about baptism.The possibilities here are up to you.....hope you can play along!! For my sample, I chose the "Less is More" option.....no extra layers, no sponging, and no paper piercing....very CAS for me!
Card details:
I have used a brand new set from Our Daily Bread designs, "Daffodil Tag Set", which will be released on March 1st. The tag was stamped, colored, and cut out with the ODBD "Tag Die", then layered over an A2 sized card (Daffodil Delight) which was "Cuttlebug'd" with a Polka Dots embossing folder. The pearls are by Zva Creative, the May Arts satin ribbon was gathered and tied with SU Linen Thread, and there are several sprays of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist.
Along with Bible Verse Thursday, I have used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Wednesday CASE Artist challenge at Christian Paper Crafts is to choose a project from Korin's gallery.....I chose this clean and simple beauty!;
Color Create: Choose 3 fruits from the inspiration photo: green apple, banana, and papaya;
Stampin B's: Use a flower on your project;
Creative Cottage: Fabulous Florals;
Freshly Brewed Challenges: Ribbons and bows;
Frosted Designs: No designer paper.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!! God Bless!!!

ODBD Collage!
Hi everyone! I have always been amazed by other crafters' collage pieces, but usually have a tough time doing one myself....not enough vision on my own without copying someone else's work! Thank goodness that it's a popular thing around the stamping world to CASE (copy and share everything) others' work as long as you give them the recognition! This week's "Queen for the Day" over at Splitcoast is BigFootBecky......I was so excited to see this awesome collage card in her gallery to help me along! I used one piece of 7 Gypsies designer paper which had several colors in it...thought it would make some good contrast. The sentiment and anchor image are from the "Anchor" set, the word background is actually the names of Jesus from the background stamp "He Shall Be Called", and the small piece with the Jesus fish was stamped with the "Fish Background"....these are all February new releases from Our Daily Bread designs. Though the collage is not perfect by any means, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Thanks for the inspiration, Becky!!!!!:)
I have also used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Paper Sundaes: Masculine Colors;
Stampin Sisters in Christ: the color green;
Our Creative Corner: Word Background;
Stampin B's: Monochromatic.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit! Not sure if I will have a post for tomorrow, but come back Tuesday for the Christian Paper Crafts monthly blog hop! Click on the banner above to the right to read all about how you can play along too!!!
Have a very blessed week!!

Sunrise Inspired
I saw the most incredible sunrise on the way to work a few days ago and just HAD to create one on paper....of course, paper and ink can never be as grand as God's handi-work, but a girl's gotta try!! This image is from a new set by Our Daily Bread designs, called "Anchor". The water and sky were colored with sponge daubers, using masking around the image; the rest was colored with Stampin Up markers. The designer paper is "With A Bang" by Moxxie and was cut out with a Spellbinders Labels Eight die, the buttons are Basic Grey, the twill ribbon is by May Arts, and I used a Herringbone embossing folder by Cuttlebug for the Kraft layer.
I have used several challenges in the making of this card:
Shabby Tea Room: Inspiration photo...red, cream, gray, blue;
All Sorts: Inspired By Nature;
Crazy 4 Challenges: Dies;
Drunken Stampers: Dies;
Crafy Catz: One For The Men;
Stampin' Royalty: Mark It Up (Markers);
ColorQ: Color challenge;
Incy Wincy: 2 coloring mediums;
Etsy Inspired Challenge: this Tear Drop Tumbler from the Clayliscious store (some awesome ceramic goodies there!) caught my eye because of the ocean blue color against the brown;
Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge: check out this awesome Beach Wallpaper from the WallTAT store!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!!!!

Bible Verse Thursday Challenge - Storms of Life
Happy Thursday, everyone!!! Time for another Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts! This week's challenge theme is "Storms of Life".....we all go through rough patches in life when we feel lost or hopeless or distressed. The Lord is our strenth and our hope in times like this and His word is a comfort. For this challenge, create a card, layout, or altered item with storms in mind. Here are some examples for your creations: weather (thunderstorms or snowstorms), what comes after a rain storm (rainbows or flowers perhaps?), create something for a friend or loved one who may be going through one of those life storms (a comforting verse or scene), or choose a verse for your project which speaks of weather....perhaps Jesus calming the stormy sea? Our challenges at Christian Paper Crafts are meant to be "stretched", to give more paper-crafters the chance to play along! We can't wait to see your take on the challenge!!
For my sample, I used the "Fish Background" stamp and "Scripture Collection 4", along with Basic Grey "Oliver" designer paper. The twill is from May Arts, the twine I got from a flea market for a buck, and the charm is from Michael's but not sure which brand.
Along with the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge, I have also used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Mary's Color Monday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts;
Our Daily Bread designs Shining The Light Challenge: H.E.A.R.T. recipe challenge: I used Hemp (twine), A (any ODBD stamps), and R (ribbon);
All Sorts: Sentiment Focal.

Tuesday Throwdown Pocket Card Challenge!
For my sample today, I have used the "Butterfly Corner" stamp and a scripture verse from "Scripture Series 1", both from Our Daily Bread designs. My room is a disaster right now, so I couldn't locate the "Butterfly Single" stamp and "Butterfly Die" which coordinate with the corner, so darn, I had to cut the butterfly out by hand! :) The butterfly and flowers were colored with a sponge dauber and the greenery was colored with a marker. The tag was made with a Spellbinders Labels Eleven die. The corner image panel was cut out and popped up with foam tape so that the tag can slide under.
I have also incorporated the following challenges in the making of this card:
Incy Wincy: At least two coloring mediums.....I used sponges with ink pads and markers;
Splitcoast's Clean and Simple Challenge is a sketch based on this awesome card by NancyK....thought the Butterfly Corner stamp from Our Daily Bread designs would work perfectly, especially since I needed some sort of pocket!! It's a win-win!!;
Our Creative Corner: Cut It Out;
Paper Cutz: stamped butterfly, ladybug, or bee;
Splitcoast Color Challenge: Yellow, blue, green.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! God Bless!

Tuesday Throwdown Button Challenge!
Hi everyone!! This is my second project as February Guest Designer for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog! I'm having a blast so far!
This week's sponsor for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge is "Fred She Said" Digital Stamps. They have so many gorgeous digital stamps available, even some that are already colored! You'll have to go and check them out!!! I picked out the "Hearts and Roses Digi Set"....I just love the scalloped heart and the roses are gorgeous....the set comes with three different sentiments too! The winner of this week's challenge will win a $20 Gift Certificate to the "Fred She Said" online store!!
This week's challenge theme is BUTTONS! For my sample, I made my own 5-layer buttons out of cardstock, designer paper scraps, a heart punch, a Cropodile (super duper hole punch), and Ranger Glossy Accents.....if you'd like to learn how to make your own buttons, check out my tutorial here! It's so easy and so fun.....the only hard part is waiting an hour for the glaze to dry!
Card details:
I started off by printing the digital image from the "Hearts and Roses Digi Set" from "Fred She Said", onto vanilla cardstock, vellum, and on the Basic Grey "June Bug" designer paper. Since ink takes a while to dry on vellum, I clear embossed the image as soon as it came out of the printer. Once the vellum was embossed and the image cut out, I turned it over and colored the roses with markers. The image printed on the designer paper was cut out, edges sponged in brown, and the roses were highlighted with markers for dimension. I ran the designer paper piece through a Xyron sticker maker and made the printed side a sticker to adhere cleanly to the vellum layer with no adhesive marks. After the two hearts were adhered together, I colored in the scalloped edge and highlighted the roses with a Gelly Roll Glitter Pen. A second sheet of the "June Bug" designer paper was trimmed down and the edges were punched all of the way around with an EK Success Dotted Scallop Border Punch, sponged in brown, and adhered to a vanilla cardstock mat. The sentiment (also from "Hearts and Roses") and its mat were cut out with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Ovals and stenciled in brown. Zva Creative Pearls, "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, and May Arts Satin Ribbon tied with a Bow Easy finished out the card.
Along with the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge, I have used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Color Monday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts: use this gorgeous inspiration photo, with rich reds and cream!;
Crafty Cardmakers: Hearts;
Crafty Cardmakers: Water/H2O challenge....Glimmer Mist!;

Count Your Blessings!
This is a quick birthday card I made for a co-worker....it was nice to make a Clean and Simple card for once.....good thing I had a good sketch and some fun challenges to help me find my way! :)
I used the "Faux Tearing" technique for the first time...very fun and very easy....I tore a piece of scratch paper to mask the corner, then stamped the "Wood Background" stamp from Our Daily Bread designs over the Kraft panel; sponged over the edge of the scratch paper and edges; removed the scratch paper and stamped the sentiment from the "Blessings - the Full of Grace Collection" in the corner. Added paper piercing, pewter brads, and SU grosgrain ribbon to finish.
I have used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Our Daily Bread designs' Shining the Light Anniversary Challenge: choose from the top ten past Shining the Light Challenges.....I chose "Distressing" and "Something Old and Something New" (the old is the SU Handsome Hunter ribbon and cardstock, the new is a new technique, "Faux Tearing", which I had not done before);
Christian Paper Crafts: Fun on Friday Challenge: "Faux Tearing", the Clean and Simple Saturday Challenge from today..."Paper Piercing", and the Clean and Simple Saturday Sketch from a few weeks ago;
One Stop Craft Challenge: Numbers;
Our Creative Corner: Use a tree image;
Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast: I chose these Teak Wood Coasters from the Uncommon Goods online store....very fun store...check it out!!;
Little Red Wagon: Kraft.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! God Bless!!
