In God We Trust - Another Challenge Combo
As the Dare To Get Dirty challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers come to a close this week, I was able to combine a few more:
Michelle (sf9erfan): masculine card
Amy (Pickletree): animal theme
Carolyn (craftycaro): a non-traditional sized/shaped card
Susan (rainy): sketch challenge
Deb (debdeb): music challenge
Holly (Toy): color challenge of mustard, red, and lt blue
Also, last week's New To You Wednesday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts was to make a gatefold card....it was a bit tricky since I incorporated the DTGD sketch challenge with it!
The set I chose is "In God We Trust" from Our Daily Bread Designs. The dp is retired SU, the brads are by Basic Grey, and I used the "Tiny Bubbles" cuttlebug ef because my friend, Kim aka nuttnhoney, loves it soooo much!!! Hi Kim! Not as beautiful as your work, but these bubbles are for you!!!
Stay tuned for the new release blog posts from me and the rest of the "Breadsticks" on Saturday morning!! Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Nameframe Challenge Combo
Don't know if I'll be able to finish all of the Dare To Get Dirty challenges by the first, but I was able to squeeze in two of them plus two others! Laura aka Scrapnextras' challenge was to use letters; Bev aka Bevmom's challenge was to use sewing on your project; this week's color challenge on SCS is Pixie Pink, Apricot Appeal, and Certainly Celery; and the New To You Wednesday challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to use buttons on your project.
This dp from K and Company, called "Wild Raspberry" had all three colors....yay! After punching the borders, I sewed them using embroidery thread from my stash. The chipboard letters I got at the Target $1 spot! I covered them in Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Worn Lipstick Stickles. The buttons are from Doodlebug Design Inc.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed day!!!

12 Challenge Combo!!! Dare To Get Dirty Week
I have been waiting all year for the special "Dare to get Dirty"challenges, where we get to stamp along with the past and present Dirty Dozen gals from Splitcoast! Last year I was a glutton for punishment and made 20 cards for 20 challenges!!! Nowadays, time is a bit limited, so I decided it would be more challenging to see how many I could combine together without going insane!!! The final number is 12!!! I combined the Fun on Friday challenge from Christian Paper Crafts (to use acetate on your project) with ten of the DTGD challenges, plus the weekly color challenge from SCS. Check out all of the DTGD challenges on this thread....if you complete and upload all 24 challenges by August 1st, you will be put in a drawing for a prize!!! Here is a list of the DTGD challenges used:
KrystieLee: use acetate or anything clear on your project(clear window)
LodiChick: creative packaging (made gift box) *Please note: Instructions for box here.
One_Happy_Stamper: sketch/layout was given
eggette: anything with wings (hence, the butterfly!)
BeccaStamps: use punches or die-cuts (Spellbinders nestabilities)
gbedwright: make your own designer paper(ODBD Amazing Grace Hymn and Grow in Grace)
Lauraly: specialty ribbon (May Arts Suede leaves ribbon)
TruCarMa: food theme (I took this literal!)
blondie090277: use paper tole (double-layered dogwoods)
DeborahLynneS: textures ( I used Flower Soft and Glimmer Mist)

Inspiration Challenge Birthday Card
I was beginning to have "Challenge Withdrawal"! I've been working to get my magazine projects finished for the December issue of Christian Papercrafts Magazine, that I haven't even looked at any challenges this week......until I realized that I needed a birthday card for today for my nephew, Caleb. The inspiration challenge today over at Splitcoast was to choose an item from the TracyPorter website......wow, a lot of awesome stuff on there!! I wasn't sure what to make for a four-year-old's birthday card, UNTIL I saw the colors of this dinner set....perfect for a southwestern scene with Lightning McQueen from CARS!
I cut Lightning and the banner from a birthday invitation since I didn't have a stamp, sticker, or anything else to use. The background scene was sponged using some masks I cut a few months ago to make this birthday card for my mom.
Ooooh, by the way, Our Daily Bread Designs website is back up, but there are a few bugs to work out. If you would like to order anything from the store, please call Kelley directly with your order and it will ship out the next business day. Thanks so much for your patience!!
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!
ODBD Website Down Temporarily
Sorry, no new projects to post today, so here is my favorite view.....what I see when I'm relaxing in my back yard swing. Just wanted to mention that the Our Daily Bread Designs website is suffering technical difficulties and will be back up and running soon. I know most of you go there to click on the blog.....since that is not possible, here is a direct link to the ODBD blog so you can get your "fix"! There are some great articles there this week: an interview with Kelley, founder of Our Daily Bread Designs, "Time With" Betty and three gorgeous cards with the new sets, AND even the DT card of the week which happens to be mine!!!
See you back here soon! Have a blessed day! :)

Birthday Flowers
My man is the absolute sweetest!!!! When I got home today, I found a sweet little note and a vase-full of "Pre-Birthday Flowers" which he had picked from our gardens! Friday is my birthday....normally just another day, but he took the night off so that we can go to dinner, shop at Archiver's (YAY!), and go to the movies!!! The Lord has blessed me sooooo much.....sometimes I wonder if I actually deserve the COUNTLESS blessings He has given me.....isn't He such an awesome God?!

Grow in Grace ODBD DT Blog Post
My card today is being featured on Our Daily Bread Designs' Blog for a new feature called, "Time With...." one of the Breadsticks....today it's me!!!
It is my pleasure today to showcase one of the newly released ODBD sets for July, called “Grow in Grace”, along with several items from the ODBD store. The decorative frame is one of the Ornare piercing/embossing templates which was traced, cut out, pierced, stenciled, and the center cut out with a Nestabilities Scalloped Square. The designer paper is “Madeline” by K and Company. The flower is by Prima and is layered over Spellbinders Flourish Accents. For a finish, I added ivory organdy ribbon and lots of Hero Arts Pearls .
Hey, time is running short for the Guest Designer Contest! You can still make it if you hurry!!! Check out the details HERE!
Also, check out the Super Special Sale at ODBD this week.....all ink pads are 25% off!!!!! Sale ends Friday night at midnight! Check back each Saturday for the new special, or sign up for the ODBD newsletter (link is on my right column!) and the special bulletin will be delivered to your email!

Glimmer Mist Painted Lotus Blossoms
The Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to choose an item from Posters.com for your inspiration. I am so in love with the new Mother Teresa sets this month from Our Daily Bread Designs, so I couldn't help but pick one of the posters with lotus blossoms!!! I chose this poster, with the pink lotus and black frame. Using masking, I stamped the lotus several times with Stazon Jet Black, and watercolored using Glimmer Mist for everything but the water and the flower centers. I used Rose Tea to paint the blossoms, Mustard Seed for the foliage, and sprayed Glacier over everything when done......yes, I am addicted to Glimmer Mist.!!! Unfortunately, I couldn't get the true sparkle to come through on camera, even though I took about 25 different photos....argh! The pink is very irridescent in real life!
This card layout is from Card Positioning Systems, Sketch CPS122. I tried to keep it simple, so added quite a bit of paper piercing instead of over-doing the embellishments. The ribbon is from May Arts, and the black pearls are from Hero Arts. The white and image layers are watercolor paper.....the frames are Basic Black.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful 4th of July!!!! God Bless!

"Anyway" Poem by Mother Teresa
Today is a good day! I have a paid holiday from work and I have been catching up on some personal projects, like this one, which is a thank you gift for my in-laws, Danny and Jean. They do so many self-less things for their family, church, and friends. I am so blessed by them personally.....so many people do not get along with their in-laws, but I truly feel like a daughter instead of a daughter-in-law. My hubby and I travel on vacations with them, go out to eat with them often, and love to just sit around and chit-chat. So, I took advantage of the Limited Supply Challenge on Splitcoast today, to use a digital image and die-cuts....no stamping allowed. This "Anyway" poem by Mother Teresa has ALWAYS been a favorite of mine.....this is some of the best advice I have ever read, other than the Bible. I used this poem for this project because I feel that my in-laws have these same qualities.....they never focus on the roadblocks in life, but always look ahead and always treat people good because it's the right thing to do. I hope that I am the same example for someone else one day!
Project details:
Paper is "Madeline" from K & Co.
Poem was printed from my pc onto vellum using French Script font
Die-cut border is Spellbinders Classic Lace Border, stenciled with Always Artichoke and sponged with Close to Cocoa
Pearls are from Hero Arts
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Grow in Grace New ODBD Release
If you're looking for the Blog Hop or Guest Designer contest, please scroll down to my earlier post. I wasn't totally happy with the card I posted earlier, so to redeem myself, I made a second which fit all of the same challenges as the earlier post: the ODBD Design Team Challenge to pick three of the new ODBD Ink Pads, the sketch challenge over at Splitcoast to use nine circles, squares, etc.; and to show you another beautiful new set released today by Our Daily Bread Designs. The ODBD colors I chose are Terra Cotta, Sunflower, and Olive. The "sunflowers" are from Spellbinders "Flower Bouquet" Shapeabilities, stenciled with Terra Cotta and Sunflower. The stems are a Martha Stuart foliage punch. The sentiment tag is Spellbinders "Ribbon Tags Trio". The border punch is from EK Success, called "Dotted Scallop", the brads are Basic Grey, the barely visible dp layer is Memory Box "Brandywine". Other paper: SU Summer Sun, Kraft, and Whisper White. And my FAVE part, the verse is from a new ODBD set called "Grow in Grace". I thought this would be a great verse to go with the sunflowers. This beautiful set, along with many others at ODBD was designed by former "Breadstick", Dina Kowal, aka Dini on SCS. Dina is so creative and artistic....if you haven't before, please check out her blog, Mama Dini's Stamperia.
Hey, have you checked out Christian Paper Crafts yet? Not only do they have card and scrapbook challenges, tips and tutorials, chat forums, and an awesome gallery, but my fave part is the daily devotional called "Daily Bread" by Marcelle Schauer, with whom the Lord has blessed me as a new and dear friend! (Marcelle is an AWESOME paper-crafter too.....this girl can QUILL like no other!!!) If you are looking for daily Bible study or just to have some wonderful Christian fellowship, check it out today. There is no membership fee....all you need is a username, just like many of the other gallery sites.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!!!
