Never Stop Going

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Cox and Cox....I thought that this rug was so cool, with the blended colors and copper colored fringe. For my card, I began by copper embossing the Grunge Cross onto white cardstock.  (Though this stamp set and coordinating die are retired from Our Daily Bread designs, I will not get rid of them since they are some of my faves for masculine cards.)  I normally would have created the Wrinkle Free Distress background first and then added the copper embossing, but I am so happy that I did the embossing first.  Once the inks (navy, green, brown) were smeared and spritzed onto a craft sheet, the raised embossing on the cardstock limited the saturation of the colors.  I love how it turned out!!  The inked panel was matted in white to balance the un-inked portions of the panel.  A separate cross was copper embossed, inked in the same manner, then cut out with the coordinating die and popped up with foam tape.  Brass brads and a metallic copper layer, along with a navy card base, rounded out the design.

Father's Day Gears

Hi, everyone!  For my card today, I have combined the Friday Free4All Challenge (machines, tools, or gears) with today's Inspiration Challenge, which was to find inspiration from the Tim Holtz Inspiration Pinterest Board......I chose this tag for my inspiration to help me create one of three Father's Day cards.  I'm not very comfortable with grunge, but I did have fun using several colors of ink with the embossed background. I don't have any Tim Holtz products, so I improvised with what I had on hand.  The panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Double Stitched Rectangles, the gears were cut with the ODBD Custom Steampunk Gears Dies, and the scripture verse is from 'Good Man', also from Our Daily Bread designs.

Inspired Grunge Butterfly

Happy Saturday, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Moleskine Pinterest board.  I chose this gorgeous journal art as inspiration for my 10-minute card.  (Well, actually 15 minutes but it took 5 to find this stamp set from Our Daily Bread designs, called 'God's Love', which is retired now.)  The grunge butterly image was inked with Not Quite Navy, then spritzed with water before stamping.  The butterfly outline was stamped in black for definition.  Once the quote was stamped, the panel was cut out with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies and adhered to a white card base.  I chose not to add any embellishments so that it will mail easily.

Three hoppers will win a $20 gift certificate for ODBD stamps and one blessed hopper will win the Bread Basket Bundle (the entire new release!)

For my sample today, I am using the beautiful and powerful set, "Crown of Thorns". The background was stamped using the "Grunge Cross Background" stamp, inked in Wisteria Wonder and "thumped" with Cajun Craze marker before stamping. The Jesus image was inked in Wisteria, then I used the "rock and roll" technique....which means I rolled the edges of the already inked stamp in Cajun Craze to create the graduated colors on the image. The edges of both panels were torn then inked heavily for a distressed look. The scripture verse was stamped directly onto the cross background in order to keep the design as simple as possible.

Card 'Ingredients':
