Spring Butterfly

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Beth aka lizzier....congrats, Beth!  Though I fell in love with her amazing scrapbook layouts, I chose this gorgeous card to case!  I loved the curved edge with the designer paper underneath and plenty of room for the image and sentiment at the top. (Though Beth was inspired by another stamper to color on colored cardstock, this layout design is hers, so it's the card design which I am case-ing today.)  For my card, I am using the medium sized butterfly from 'The Greatest Gift' Stamp/Die Duos set, along with one of the dies from the ODBD Custom 'Celebrate and Wish' Dies set.  The curved border was cut with the ODBD Custom Leafy Edged Borders Dies and the designer paper is from the ODBD 'Easter Card Collection 2016'.  The butterfly was colored with sponges in mauve and plum using a reverse mask.  Glimmer Mist and clear sequins were added for finishing touches. Since I used pastels and since the butterfly has spring blooms and birds, I will also be submitting this to the March Fan Club 'Spring Fever' Central Theme Challenge.

Glazed Jars from Carlyle Avenue
Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Carlyle Avenue....I fell in love with the colors of these glazed jars.....the link only shows the single jar, but my true inspiration was the photo with the jars and sailboat on that page. I used gray and navy blue ink with the Ink Spray and Smash technique with white cardstock.  Once the cardstock was dry, the panels were cut out with the ODBD Custom Large Banners Dies and the image and quote from the NCC set, 'Sail Away' were stamped in Stazon Jet Black. A white chalk marker was used to highlight parts of the image.  Gray baker's twine was knotted and adhered across the top.

Our Daily Bread designs April New Releases!

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs April new release party!!  This month's release is full of spring-y goodness!!!  To see the entire release, view all of the designer samples, plus learn how to win some ODBD goodies, please visit this post.

For my samples today, I have used the following ODBD items:

ODBD The Greatest Gift Stamp/Die Duos ODBD Great Catch Stamp/Die Duos

ODBD Custom Fancy Circles Dies ODBD Custom Circles Dies

ODBD Custom Circle Ornaments Dies ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies

ODBD Custom Lattice Background Die ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies

ODBD Cozy Quilt Paper Collection

My first card features the 'The Greatest Gift' Stamp/Die Duos set, ODBD Custom Lattice Background Die, ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies, ODBD Custom Circles Dies, and a pretty floral pattern from the ODBD Cozy Quilt Paper Collection.  The butterflies were stamped in black, cut out with the custom dies.  I wanted to keep the edges white, more than what the dies would cover, so I cut out three reverse masks by hand and sponged three different shades of orange.  (I use the "old school" technique of masking and sponging for a blended look since I don't own Copics or any blendable markers.) Though this set is perfect for Mother's Day, I made this card for my Mom's birthday.

My next card is more Clean and Simple, but it was fun to make.  The bluegill and fishing lure from the 'Great Catch' Stamp/Die Duos set were stamped in Stazon Jet Black, cut out with the custom dies, watercolored, then popped up with foam tape.  The background was created with three different shades of blue ink, using the Ink Spray and Smash technique (on a craft sheet or page protector, smear your inks, spray with water, then mop up the inks with your cardstock.) Once the panel was dry, it was cut with the ODBD Custom Pierced Rectangles Dies, the sentiments were stamped (on the wrong end of the panel....I meant for the lightest shade to be at the top...duh!), the circle was cut from the panel, then layered onto mats cut with the ODBD Custom Fancy Circles Dies and ODBD Custom Circle Ornaments Dies. (NOTE: between the ODBD Custom Circles Dies and the ODBD Custom Circle Ornaments Dies sets, you will find perfect sizes of circle layers to coordinate with the ODBD Custom Pierced Circles Dies and ODBD Custom Double Stitched Circles Dies,)  Once everything was assembled, I used a clear glaze pen on the fish's eye and on the fishing lure.

Happy Father's Day!

Fishing Shirt from Signals
Hi, everyone!  Since I was unable to stamp yesterday, my card today combines the Inspiration Challenge and Featured Stamper Challenge from Splitcoast. This week's Featured Stamper is Jayne aka Ozpom....congrats, Jayne!  I loved the sponged circle design of this beautiful card plus the cool baker's twine at the bottom.  The Inspiration Challenge is to find inspiration from the Signals site.....I chose this awesome t-shirt for a couple of reasons:  I love to create monochromatic cards (especially in gray),  I LOVE this new stamp set from ODBD, 'Great Catch' Stamp/Die Duo (available April 2nd), plus I'm thrilled to get a head start on my Father's Day cards!  I have also used the following custom dies from ODBD: Double Stitched Rectangles, Circles Dies (to cut mask and reverse mask), plus the Fishing Net Background Stamp was used instead of an embossing folder.
