Divinity Designs LLC October New Release!
Hi, everyone! Wow, September flew right by and now it's time for another new release from Divinity Designs LLC! Before I discovered stamping, my favorite hobby was cross-stitching, so I was super excited to see the new cross stitch dies and sewing theme this month!! To see the entire new release plus some AMAZING samples from the design team, click HERE!
Here are the new products featured in my projects for today:
My first card features the 'Keep Me In Stitches' stamp set, Embroidery Hoop Set Dies, and the Slimline Cross Stitch Background Die. Additional products used: Floral Favorites Paper Pad, Large Alphabet Dies, Slimline Pierced Rectangles Dies, Slimline Rectangles Dies, Slimline Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Slimline Card Base Die. Please note: The cross stitch dies require a shim in order to completely cut out the tiny holes. I used this fact to my advantage with my embroidery hoop design.....the scripture verse was stamped on white cardstock; without an extra shim I used the die so that only the outer edges would cut through. I placed a scratch paper mask over the area with the stamping (between the panel and the die), replaced the die and ran through again. On the back side of the panel, I used scotch tape over the areas with the stamping to keep the partially cut holes in place, then poked out the ones around the edge. Then the rest of the hoop was cut and assembled. For the floral panel, I chose a pretty pattern from the Floral Favorites Paper Pad to be used with the Slimline Cross Stitch Background Die; a pretty pink border was stitched through the cut-out pattern. A second piece of the same paper was used to cut a matching panel for the top layer, cut with the Slimline Rectangles Dies, matted with the Slimline Pierced Rectangles Dies. After cutting and embossing the Large Alphabet letters, a clear glaze pen was used on the embossed areas.
Stay tuned throughout the month for more cards which include stitching!
