Bible Verse Thursday - Memorial Day Tribute

Happy Thursday, everyone!!! This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts is to create a card, layout, or altered item which honors Memorial Day and all of those veterans who have given their lives or put their lives at risk for this great country! While you're celebrating having a day off work, please remember to pray for our country, pray for our soldiers past and present, plus their families. It is so easy to take our many God given freedoms for granted. It is too easy to complain about war and whether it is right or not, but the important thing is NOT to forget about those men and women who are offering their lives for us! To all of you service men and women, thank you and may God bless you and keep you safe!!!

For my card sample today, I have also used Jen's Color Monday Challenge of tan, white, red, plus at least one more primary color. Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge is another "good'un"!!! I have used one of my fave patriotic sets from Our Daily Bread designs, "In God We Trust", along with Moxxie "With a Bang" designer paper, Spellbinders Labels Eight dies, May Arts Poly-twill ribbon, and some Hobby Lobby pewter stars.

I would also like to announce two new Design Team members at Christian Paper Crafts.....Jennipher Lowry and Candace Mitchell!!!! We are so excited and blessed that these talented and super sweet Christian gals have agreed to come on board!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a very blessed day!!

Sneak Peek Combo

Ooooh.....I've been impatiently waiting to start showing off the upcoming June 1st releases from Our Daily Bread designs!! This set is called "From Me To You"....gorgeous fuschia flowers just in time for summer!!! This is a birthday card for a dear friend.....hopefully I can find a hanging basket of fuschias to match the card!!

This week's featured stamper over at Splitcoast is NCSUNikki.....check out her awesome gallery HERE. She has a very clean style...it was fun to go cruising! I finally chose this beautiful card to re-create.

Also, the Fun On Friday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts was to use Copics or markers......I used Stampin' Up markers Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Always Artichoke to color the fuschias. These colors were a perfect match for the SEI designer paper, Jolie Chocolat! The hummingbird charm was sent to me by one of my dear ODBD sisters, America Kuhn....isn't she the sweetest?

Thanks for stopping by today!!! Have a blessed week!!!

It's a Grace CASE!!!!

This week's Shining the Light Challenge on the ODBD blog is to use your sentiment or verse as the focal point. Woo hoo....no problemo!!! I'm so blessed to have so many ODBD stamps to choose from for this!!

This week's Case Artist Saturday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts is to re-create an item from Grace Nywening's awesome gallery!! Congrats, Grace!!!! Grace is not only an amazing paper-crafter, and my DT sister at Our Daily Bread designs, but she is truly an inspiration to Christian women everywhere!! Grace is the real deal and I love her dearly!!! Check out Grace's blog HERE, her gallery at CPC HERE or her Splitcoast Gallery HERE. I chose this gorgeous card to case....it's not easy to duplicate her works of art, but I gave it my best shot!!!

I am also using Jen's Color Monday Challenge, to use the Shabby Chic colors of either pink & brown or blue & brown....since this will be a graduation card for my brother's girlfriend, I will be using her fave color....blue!!! And this is the second card this week for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge...the theme is "The Path".

Also, over at Splitcoast, the Inspiration Challenge is to choose a pic from Amy Atlas Events for your inspiration.....I chose this awesome dessert table.....the blues and browns just made me "ooh" and "aah"!!! Also at Splitcoast, the Free4All Challenge yesterday was to use buttons and bows!

Earlier this week I posted a wedding card which I made while doing the Product Review on Prima Flowers for Our Daily Bread designs. I explained how I de-constructed some of the "Alabaster Round Petal" flowers in order to use the small buds. The photo below shows one complete flower, one after the center bud was "extracted", and the small flower is one layer of the de-constructed flower cut apart and glued back together with a smaller diameter. I covered the center with a button for my card above. With a little thought, see how these flowers can be used in many different ways?

Other supplies used for the card sample: "Path of Life" stamp set by Our Daily Bread designs, Memory Box "Frond" designer paper, Spellbinders Square Nestabilities, Circle Nestabilities, and Labels Three. The button is Basic Grey, the gingham ribbon is by Ribbon FX by Hobby Lobby, the suede ribbon leaves are by May Arts, and there is lots of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist for a grand finale!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!! Stay tuned next week for sneak peeks on the upcoming releases from Our Daily Bread designs.....you're gonna love 'em!!! Have a very blessed weekend!!

Stamping in Time & Bible Verse Thursday

I'm doing "double duty" here today!! I usually try to combine as many challenges together as possible each week, but only pulled off two this time....today's combo is for Christian Paper Crafts' Bible Verse Thursday Challenge and the ODBD Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge.

This week's Bible Verse Thursday theme is "The Path". Use any verse about a path for your project.....or use an image of a path plus any verse you choose. The scene on the front of my sample is from the ODBD set, "With Deepest Sympathy" and I used a scripture stamp from the ODBD set, "Path of Life", for the inside. The designer paper is Basic Grey "Max & Whiskers" and the "re-purposed" brown twill ribbon was originally around a package of wash cloths.

Here is the inside verse for "The Path" challenge:

The general layout for my card is for the bi-weekly challenge on the Our Daily Bread designs' blog, called "Stamping In Time: On Assignment".....this week's challenge is being hosted by former "Breadstick", Silke Ledlow! Thanks, Silke, for an awesome sketch challenge this week!!! It's a "high and low" or "tall and thin" sketch. For the details on how to win $ toward ODBD stamps, check this post HERE on the ODBD blog.

Some of the other Breadsticks have created samples using Silke's awesome sketch.....check them out!

Wedding Gift and Card

This past weekend was a wedding reception for my brother, Brad, and his wife, Autymn! Today I am sharing the wedding card and gift which I made for them. Though the card took eight hours to complete, it was soooo fun to make and soooo worth it in the end!!!

I actually made this card while doing a Product Review on Prima Flowers for Our Daily Bread designs. I would like to share a few tidbits about this card that may not be noticeable to the "untrained" eye!
Tidbit number 1: The green portion of the card is actually the packaging insert from the Prima Flower package....most of their packaging is recycle-able....and very beautiful too! I cut out the center with a Spellbinders Labels Four die, layered it, then popped it up for the scripture panel. The white outside mat I cut by hand around the packaging insert.
Tidbit number 2: These "Alabaster Round Petals" flowers come in one size only in a package of six.....I wanted smaller flowers as companions, so I deconstructed two of them with an exacto knife....the large pieces I will embellish and re-use later.
Tidbit number 3: The green leaves you see are actually the backing of the same flowers.....I couldn't stand for them to be "hidden" and go to waste, so I de-constructed those too and used them for leaves!
I think Prima would be proud to see my recycling skills! lol!!!

If you have ever read any of the articles I write for the Our Daily Bread designs blog, you would know that my favorite descriptive word to describe their stamps is VERSATILE!!! This card proves that fact! The verse I used is from the ODBD set, "For The Graduate" and the Congrats sentiment is from "As You Graduate"! Yep, two graduation sets used for a wedding card!!

Other supplies used for the card: LOTS of Pearl Glimmer Mist, (especially on the flowers), Spellbinders Fancy Tags, lace ribbon, Martha Stewart foliage punch, and Zva Creative pearls.

For their wedding gift, I printed out the Mother Teresa poem, "Anyway", on vellum and adhered it to some Prima designer paper. Using the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Border Punch, I punched two strips of the same paper, sponged the edges, adhered it to the vellum layer, then embellished it with light green Zva Creative Pearls.

The Fun On Friday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts this past Friday was to make anything altered. I had this done Saturday for the wedding, but I'm a little slow at posting!!

Here is a close up of the poem. These powerful words have moved me over and over again.....Mother Teresa was such a brilliant human being! My new sister in law loves Mother Teresa also, so I just had to make a frame as a gift!

Thanks for stopping by today! Come back tomorrow for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts, plus a new Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge at the Our Daily Bread designs blog.

Many blessings to you!!!

Shining the Light Challenge

This week's Shining the Light Challenge over at the Our Daily Bread designs' blog is "May Flowers"!!! Woo hoo....I'm all over that one!! In case you weren't aware, there is a new challenge each Saturday by our talented Challenge Team.....each and every week you have a chance at winning ODBD stamps......how awesome is that?! So, get over there and check it out!!

Today is also Case Artist Saturday at Christian Paper Crafts. This week's featured artist is twin2u2 .....check out her gallery HERE. I chose this awesome card to case because I love the layout....the angled ribbon and cluster of flowers is gorgeous! Jen's Color Monday challenge this week was to use orange, pink, and brown....this is my second try this week with these colors! And I'm a bit late, but Cindy's Fun on Friday challenge last Friday was to punch around the page.

Over at Splitcoast, the Inspiration Challenge is to choose an item from Two Lumps of Sugar online store. I chose this gorgeous oven mitt set because of the beautiful colors all blended together!

My card recipe: The scripture verse is from one of the new ODBD sets this month, "God's Hands". The lilies are by Prima.....I am in LOVE with these flowers.....must....have....more!!! The designer paper is Basic Grey "Sugar Rush", punched all the way around with an EK Success Scalloped Scallop Border Punch. The satin ribbon is by May Arts and the green pearl are by Zva Creative. Once finished, I sprayed MANY layers of "Dazzling Diamonds" Glimmer Mist....you should see this baby IRL!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!!!!

Bible Verse Thursday - "Hands"

Edited: Thanks so much to all of the wonderful ladies who hopped along with us yesterday for Christian Paper Crafts Blog Hop, sponsored by Magenta. Your lovely comments mean so much! I have drawn lucky number 13 from my blog comments.....congrats to Robyn aka mom3!!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!! Time for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts! This week's theme is "Hands". Either use an image of hands plus a verse of your choice......OR.....any theme as long as your verse mentions hands, especially God's Hands.

I have used one of the new sets from Our Daily Bread designs, called "God's Hands" for this card. This set to me is so powerful and comforting!

I have also used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge, Jen's Color Monday Challenge to use pink, orange, brown, and white, plus it also works for Betty's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast to use Melon Mambo and Soft Suede with the dessert option of wood....I used Creative Imaginations' "Real Wood" paper in cherry, cut with Spellbinders Labels Eight. The designer paper is K & Co. "Que Sera", the flower is by Prima (sponged with Melon Mambo), the pearls are Basic Grey, and I used several layers of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you are here to find the winners of the Christian Paper Crafts Blog Hop, I will edit this post after the announcement this morning on the CPC "Announcements" section of the forum.

Have a blessed day, everyone!!!!

Christian Paper Crafts Blog Hop Sponsored by Magenta

Hi everyone!! It's been a while since our last Christian Paper Crafts Blog Hop! We are so excited to announce that today's hop is being sponsored by Magenta ! Nathalie from Magenta was so generous in donating some of their famous Peel Off stickers and cute little treat boxes for our DT to play with. If you have not heard of Magenta yet, I'm sure that you will check them out after you see all of the awesome samples from our Design Team today!! They carry a wide variety of stamps, papers, templates, stickers, embellishments, and other accessories to turn your paper-crafting into PAPER ART!! Magenta's website also has a gallery full of gorgeous projects to inspire you with "Magenta Style"!

This treat box, also from Magenta, and the card were embellished with Peel Off stickers from the "Onion Flowers" set. Each Peel Off set offers a little something different, from borders, to images, to accent leaves and "dots".

Designed by Angie Crockett

For the card, I used the Onion Flower border strip across the raised panel and "dots" for the corners just as I would normally use pearls or brads. The image sticker was adhered to vellum, then the back side of the vellum was sponged, then adhered to the mat. I used a scripture sticker from my stash and added Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist for a shimmery finish to match the gold Peel Off's.

Designed by Angie Crockett

The treat box was embellished with the Onion Flowers Peel Off stickers as well. What looks like an eyelet at the top is also one of the stickers which I placed over the punched holes.

Designed by Angie Crockett

This card sample also highlights the Onion Flowers Peel Off Stickers. This image sticker was adhered to vellum, the back side colored in pink and blue, then adhered to the mat. The little gold dots on the scalloped mat are also stickers.....such a wide variety in each set....I love 'em!!!

Designed by Angie Crockett

This Stampendous Mini-Pail was embellished using the "Stars and Snowflakes" Peel Off set.

Designed by Angie Crockett

Here is a close-up of the lid, showing just one of many awesome stars from the set, along with silver dots (instead of my usual paper-piercing!)

ODBD Shining the Light Challenge - Graduation

Today on the Our Daily Bread designs blog is a new Shining The Light challenge, hosted by our talented Challenge Team. This week's challenge is to make a graduation card, using ODBD stamps if you have them. I have used the new ODBD set, "For The Graduate".....I just love this scene and this verse from Proverbs is one of my faves! I know....this card is a little plain, but I really don't like to "over-do" cards for guys, plus I'm not as good at creating "guy cards" as most of our team is! (Help!)

Over at Splitcoast today, the Inspiration Challenge is to choose an item from the Huset store....I chose this cup and saucer....looked like the (tiny and hard to color) leaves on the scene from the "For the Graduate" set. The challenge over at Pile It On this week is to use "boyish colors"....done!!

This week's featured artist for Case Artist Saturday over at Christian Paper Crafts is Rose Miller....yay, Rose!!! Check out her gallery HERE. I chose this awesome card because I loved the layout and the three flowers at the top....once I got started, I changed gears right in the middle and flipped the sketch on its side and used a knot instead of flowers.

Speaking of Christian Paper Crafts, stay tuned on Wednesday for a Blog Hop by our CPC Design Team, sponsored by the Magenta company. Magenta has generously donated product for our DT to play with......some very cool stuff you don't want to miss!!! The hop will start at Christian Paper Crafts at 10 am EST !

Happy Mother's Day for all you moms out there!!! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Stamping In Time: On Assignment with Our Daily Bread Designs

It's time for another edition of Our Daily Bread designs' Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge! This special ODBD challenge is on every other Thursday....all the challenge guidelines and deets about winning $ towards ODBD stamps are listed HERE. This time the challenge theme is "A Little Something Something", which means:
Use any stamps from Our Daily Bread designs AND use something old, something new, plus something you received from someone else.

Check out the awesome samples for this challenge from:
CONNIE
SABRINA
DEBI
CHRIS
BETTY

For my challenge sample, my new item is the scripture stamp from the new ODBD set, "For The Graduate", the old item is the lavender SU cardstock which I have had for several years, and the received item is the Scenic Window Kit which I received from ODBD for the Flower Soft Product Review on some of their latest products. Other items used: Zva Creative pearls, "Heather" Flower Soft, designer paper from the Memory Box "Butterfield" collection, and "Pearl" Glimmer Mist. This layered scene is actually four layers....you cut each one out from the kit and layer them with foam tape for some amazing dimension, then add the Flower Soft of your choice....so easy!!

Today is also Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts.....this week's challenge is to make a graduation card using any verse of your choice. I have also used Jen's Color Monday Challenge to use green, purple, and white. Plus, Gloria's Sketch Tuesday challenge is another good'un!!!!

Happy Mother's Day - ODBD Shining the Light Challenge

Mother's Day is fast approaching.....do you have your cards ready? This is the last one I needed....whew! Mom, mother-in-law, step-mom, and Grandma....I'm ready! I killed many birds with one stone for these projects....I wrote the Product Review on Ranger Embossing Powders for the Our Daily Bread designs blog, plus the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge is to make a Mother's Day card, the Stampin' B's challenge #56 is also to make a Mother's Day card, plus the Shabby Tea Room's challenge this week is to "Get Your Bling On"...copper embossing, pearls, and lots of Glimmer Mist should qualify!!

This cute little burlap seed bag I picked up at the "$1 Spot" at Target (minus my hubby's team-member discount, btw!!) I embossed the Mother's Day sentiment with Ranger Copper EP using the ODBD set, "Happy Mother's Day", framed it with Prism Metallic Paper cut with a Nestie die, and sprayed with "Glacier" Glimmer Mist.

I used the same set, "Happy Mother's Day" for the card, embossing the verse and wreath with Copper EP as well. The flowers were colored with SU markers, then I cut out the wreath with an exacto and paper snips, and popped it up over the scripture verse. The pearls are Basic Grey Opaline, the cardstock is Prism Metallic Cardstock in Blue Steel and one layer of Copper, the designer paper is Memory Box "Frond", finished with some velvet ribbon tied with a Bow Easy, and several layers of "Glacier" Glimmer Mist.
Thanks for stopping by today!!!

God Bless!!

ODBD May New Release/Blog Hop

Happy May Day, everyone!!! Our team at Our Daily Bread designs are having a special "May Day" blog hop for you this month! In certain parts of the country, on May first, it is a fun tradition to make "May Baskets" for neighbors and friends, fill them with flowers or other little gifts, then go hang them on their doorknob, knock or ring the bell, and run and hide until they had found their basket. Though I have never participated, it sure sounds like a fun "giving" tradition! Some still carry on this tradition, and others are trying to revive it. So in the spirit of May Day, for our hop, we are going to collect flowers from each designer to fill our May basket!

Blog hop and contest details are below, but first I would love to reveal our beautiful new stamps for this month.....I can't decide which set I love more...they are all so versatile and powerful!!

For my card sample today, I have chosen to use "As You Graduate". The scene and sentiment are embossed with Ranger Black Detail Embossing Powder, the sky sponged in pink, then the trees were embellished with "Raspberry Fizz" Ultrafine Flower Soft. The cobblestone path was embellished with "Sand" Ultrafine Flower Soft for dimension. The pink satin ribbon is by May Arts, tied with my best friend, the Bow Easy!! The designer paper is Memory Box "Gossamer" and the black pearls are by Hero Arts.

Not only is today the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY FOR CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS (Woo Hoo!!), it is also Case Artist Saturday .....the featured artist this week is Bernadette! I have chosen this gorgeous card to case....I flipped her sketch upside down....if you stand on your head, it's very clear!! lol!!! A big congrats and thank you to Cindy Coutts for all of the hard work she puts into CPC to keep the ministry going...and thanks to all of the wonderful Christian ladies who "hang out" there and inspire me daily!!! Also today, over at Splitcoast, the Inspiration Challenge is to use an item from the "Jazz It Up Home Interiors" site. I chose the wall art shown in this small photo...the pink scene just spoke to me!!

Now, on with the hop!!! If you hopped here from Chris Olsen's awesome blog, you are in the right place. If you have just "happened by", please go to the ODBD blog so that you may hop in the right order and collect your May Day flowers! There will be three lucky winners who will receive $15.00 towards ODBD stamps! You have until Monday, May 3rd 8 EST to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the ODBD blog on Tuesday, May 4th. Good luck!!

Here is what you need to do to qualify to win:
1. Hop from blog to blog, leaving a comment and collecting the flower that designer is giving away.
2. Return to the ODBD blog and leave a comment that you completed the hop and left comments for each designer. If you were unable to leave a comment for any one, just state their name in your final comment there and you will still be entered into the drawing. This is meant to be fun, not stressful.
3. Send an email to Grace at gnywening@yahoo.com with the names of the designers and the flowers you collected. If for any reason you get lost along the way, just return to the ODBD Blog for a complete list.

My flower for you to collect: LILIES (These are from my garden last year...aren't they gorgeous?!)

Your next stop will be at Dawn Lusk's blog.....just wait until you see what she and the rest of the girls have to show you!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have fun on your hop and have a blessed weekend!!!!
