Stamping In Time / Bible Verse Thursday Combo!

Happy New Year's Eve Eve!!!! Wow, where did the year go? Other than being at my job, I think I spent the rest of the year either in my stamp room or right here at this computer box!!!

To help celebrate the NEW, both the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts and the Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge with Our Daily Bread designs are all about NEW!

This week's Bible Verse Thursday theme at Christian Paper Crafts is "New Beginnings"....make a card, layout, or altered item based on something new.....New Year, new day (sunrise), new tools or products, new techniques, or a scripture about something new.

Chris Dickinson is hosting the Stamping in Time Challenge this go 'round. She is challenging us with a theme of "Ring in the New".....base your project on NEW themes....or rings, circles, anything round.....stretch the challenge any way you like, as long as you use your ODBD stamps! Find out how to win $ toward ODBD stamps here on the ODBD blog. Several of my fellow "Breadsticks" have made samples for this challenge....check them out here:

Bible Verse Thursday - For the Birds!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!!! Time for another Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts! This week's challenge theme is "For The Birds".....your card, layout, or altered item can be nearly anything you wish, as long as there is a scripture verse and as long as there is at least one bird.....stamped, punched, designer paper, a verse mentioning birds, and so on.

Since I am pretty much obsessed with Stampin' Up's new Cherry Cobbler red, I decided to use "Sing For Joy" from Our Daily Bread designs and create a cardinal birthday card for my dad. Okay, so the cardinal is a bit dark, but I know Dad won't mind! The designer paper is Basic Grey "Wassail", the ribbon and corduroy brads are Stampin Up, and the "out of the box" scene was cut out with a Spellbinders Labels Fifteen.

Along with Bible Verse Thursday, I have also used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Creative Card Crew: Anything Goes;
Splitcoast's Technique Lover's Challenge: Sponging (sponged the edges of the dsp, plus stenciled the inside of the Spellbinder die);
Stampin' Sisters in Christ: Encouragement, cheerful, uplifting card;
AI Factory: Anything Goes.

Thanks sooooo much for stopping by today! Stay tuned....in the next day or so, I want to show off some "Happy Mail" I got today!!!!!

Stay warm and God Bless!!!!

Altered CD Case and Card

Hi there! I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get through this month's birthday list, but this card makes one more checked off of the list! I used both the Clean and Simple Saturday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts (sketch) and the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoast to use a bow on your CAS card. This card was a lot of fun to make....I think I might make several more of these in different colors! I used the Prima designer paper scraps leftover from the altered CD case below which I made last weekend.

I have also used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Crafty Pad: Embossing;
Delightful Challenges: Embossing;
Stamp Insanity: It's all about me, me, me! (This card has everything I love..paper piercing, Victoria EF, Glimmer Mist, Satin Ribbon, Pearls, butterflies....can't get any better than that in my book!!);
Tuesday Throwdown: Clean and Simple.

Here is a close up which shows a bit of the "Pearl" Glimmer Mist on the "Victoria" embossed background. The butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and the pearls are Zva Creative. The May Arts satin bow above was tied with a Bow Easy.

This is a brown metal CD case (with a pink zipper) which I found at Michael's for 50 cents...cha ching!!! For instructions on how I decorated it, please see the "Time With Angie" post on the Our Daily Bread designs blog from earlier in the week. The scripture verse is from "Sing To The Lord", the designer paper is Prima "Annabelle", the pearls are Zva Creative, and the May Arts satin ribbon was tied with a Bow Easy.

Thanks for putting up with the "birthday card binge" this weekend!! Who knows....I might just get back to holiday projects before the month is over!!

God Blessings to you!!!

Snow Much Fun!

Heehee! I LOVE this photo of my nephew, Jacob! The moment I saw it on my sister's Facebook page, I KNEW I had to scrap it! Look at the pure joy on his face....makes me giggle every time I look at it!!

Normally, scrap-booking is not at all easy for me....one page usually takes days or weeks, but thanks to one of the Scrapbook Challenges over at Christian Paper Crafts, I was able to do this in a couple of hours. The "Stretch Your Sketch" challenge is to use the given card sketch from the past and stretch it into a scrapbook page. Gloria's Sketch Challenge 37 was the one chosen last month. P.S.: There will be a brand new set of Scrapbooking Challenges coming up this week!

I have also used the following challenges in the making of this page:
Creative Craft World: Scrap your family;
Sentimental Sundays: Let it snow;
Daring Cardmakers: Snow Much Fun;
Paper Cutz: Snowflakes/snowmen;
Twisted Thursdays: Seasonal with glitter and bling;
Stampin' Royalty: Winter holidays;
Paper Playtime: Snowflakes;
The Shabby Tea Room: Tis The Season...gift ideas (I will be giving this page to my sister for a keepsake.)

Layout Details:
Paper: SEI "Winter Song" scrapbooking kit, plus SU Whisper White for mat;
Embellies: SU Felt Snowflakes and Filigree Brads, May Arts Velvet Ric Rac.

Thanks for visiting! Hope you enjoy Jacob's photo as much as me!! God Bless!

Birthday Sunset

Happy Sunday!! Yes, I have another birthday card to share with you....this one is for a co-worker, Terry. He loves the outdoors, so I wanted to incorporate some nature in his card. This week's Wednesday Case Artist Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts helped me to decide on this image from the ODBD "With Heartfelt Sympathy" set. This week's featured artist is Lori aka saintsrule....I chose this card for the clean and simple layout, plus the image she used reminded me of cat-tails. Check out Lori's work on her blog, her Splitcoast gallery, or her gallery at Christian Paper Crafts....she is super-amazingly-talented!!

I have also incorporated the following challenges into this card:
Etsy-Inspired Challenge: I chose this gorgeous necklace from the Tzaddi Shop because of the gorgeous sunset colors;
Tuesday Throwdown: Clean and Simple;
Splitcoast's 300th Color Challenge was to revisit a past Color Challenge....I chose CC224...perfect for a sunset scene!

Card details:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs "With Heartfelt Sympathy" (image) and "Dad" for the birthday sentiment;
Paper: SU Naturals Ivory and Cajun Craze, Basic Grey "Pyrus" designer paper;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Inks and markers;
Accessories: Oval Nestabilities, sponge daubers for coloring, scratch paper for masking, May Arts Twill Ribbon, brass brads, paper piercer and template.

Thanks for stopping by! If I can get a good photo, my next post just MIGHT be a scrapbook page!! Have a blessed Sunday!!

Blessings Come Down!

Hello there! Today I have another birthday card to show you....boy, November and December are heavy birthday months for my family! This one I made for my brother, Brian....he loves when I make "heavy" cards for him...in other words...lots of layers! You should have seen his eyes light up when he felt the weight of the envelope!! lol!!!

I have used Gloria's awesome Sketch Tuesday Challenge for this card design, although I flipped it on it's side so that the "arrows" in the sketch would match the ones in this sentiment from the Our Daily Bread designs' set, "Blessings" from the "Full of Grace Collection". The designer paper is Basic Grey "Marjolaine", the Soft Suede cardstock was embossed with a Herringbone embossing folder, the button is by Basic Grey, the twill is by May Arts, and I added a few dew drops as an extra embellishment to match the clear button. I have also used Jenny's Color Monday Challenge of Soft Suede, black, and cream or white. (Sorry, I stretched this one a bit since the designer paper had a bit of green in there!)

Thanks for stopping by today!! I love it when you come to visit!!! God Bless!

Count Your Blessings

Hi everyone! This is a birthday card for my friend, Lori. The sentiment stamp is new this month from Our Daily Bread designs....it's the latest addition to the "Full of Grace" Collection, called "Blessings". The paper is Basic Grey "Sugar Rush", the pearls are Zva Creative, the May Arts ribbon was tied with a Bow Easy, and though you can't see it from this angle, there are about five sprays of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist. The Spellbinders dies I used are Lacey Squares, Labels Fifteen and Big Scalloped Ovals. The border of the designer paper was punched with an EK Success Dotted Scallop Border Punch.

There were some awesome challenges this week to help me with the design:
I knew as soon as I saw this cool sketch from Card Positioning Systems, it was the right one for Lori's card;
Splitcoast's Inspiration Challenge: I chose this super cute Giverny dress from the Shabby Apple Store...when I saw the colors, it reminded me of this Sugar Rush paper;
Frosted Designs: Use Ribbon;
Paper Make-up: Inspiration photo with lavenders, green, orange, etc.;
Studio 313: Sparkle and bling....okay, you can see the bling, but I promise there is tons of Glimmer Mist here too...please click on the close-up view!;
Freshly Brewed Challenges: Sparkle and Shine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed weekend!!!

Bible Verse Thursday Challenge

Happy Thursday, everyone! Time for another Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts! This week's challenge theme is "Bless The Little Children".....the challenge rules are this: your theme is anything to do with children, plus use any scripture verse on your card, layout, or altered item. Think outside the box....you don't just have to use a child image or a verse speaking of children, but....perhaps advice you would give to a child or teenager....or something they would like to have or like to do.....you can twist this theme any way you like!

I have made a "Stampin Up Only" or SUO card, for once! It's been a while since I've given my SU stamps or papers some love, so I broke out an old fave, "Elegant Inspirations", plus a set I had not used before, "Itty Bitty Buds". I love this verse because it is not only great advice to give to a child or young adult, but it's great advice for anyone. I remind myself of this verse often, whenever fear, doubt, or worry find their way into my mind.....the key words here are "ALL THINGS"! With Christ, there is absolutely NOTHING we can't do!!! Amen!!

Along with Bible Verse Thursday, I have also used the following challenges in the making of this card:
The layout is from the Mojo Sketch #168...isn't it great?!;
Craft Your Passion: Anything Goes;
Crafty Pad Challenge 100: Anything Goes;
Color Throwdown: Riding Hood Red, Pear, chocolate/kraft;
Color Dare: Riding Hood Red, Olive, Neutral;
Flutter By Wednesdays: Open challenge (butterfly);
Little Red Wagon: Die cut;
Stamp Something: Use Christmas colors;
Delightful challenges: Embossing.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! God Bless!!!

Our Daily Bread designs' December New Release Blog Hop!

Hi everyone! Welcome to the December New Release Blog Hop for Our Daily Bread designs! Most of you may have heard the exciting news about ODBD partnering up with Spellbinders as a Preferred Stamp Partner....Kelley stated it so well, so I'll add her quote here:

Our Daily Bread designs is so proud and pleased to be chosen by the Spellbinders company as a Preferred Stamp Partner. Our partnership with Spellbinders will be a blessing to the stamping community as well, as we expand our line to include perfect match sentiments, Scriptures and images to Spellbinders products. We look forward to a long and blessed partnership with such a fine product as Spellbinders.

Isn't that exciting?! We have one stamp set to show off this month, which kicks off this beautiful partnership. The "Ornaments" set coordinates with the Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments Dies......check out the New Release post which shows how easy it is to cut out the ornament images with the dies. I have used this set for my first sample, along with Memory Box "Mistletoe" designer paper. The May Arts Crocheted Lace was tied with a Bow Easy. There are several layers of my fave, "Pearl" Glimmer Mist...you may have to click on the photo to see it....it's always camera shy!

My second sample today features the latest addition to the "Full of Grace" Collection, called "Blessings". I LOVE this set and have already used it several times!!! The designer paper is Basic Grey "Marjolaine", the pearls are Zva Creative, and the May Arts Satin Ribbon was tied with a Bow Easy. With a closer view, you can see the "Pearl" Glimmer Mist for a shimmery finish.

Now.....on to the hop!!! For this month's hop, there will be 4 prizes! Kelley has very generously offered to give Three prizes of Choice of One set and, and One GRAND PRIZE of the December Bread Basket Bundle!!!! Woo hoo, how exciting!

Faux Tile for Featured Stamper!

I am so excited that I was asked to make a sample for this week's Technique Lover's Challenge over at Splitcoast...thanks, Julie!!! The technique is "Faux Tile". Check out Julie's tutorial HERE or my previous Product Review on the Scor-Buddy HERE, in which I use the same technique. I have used three different stamp sets from Our Daily Bread designs: the flower and butterfly images are from the "Don't Worry" set, the scripture verse is from "God Loves You", and the stamped frame is from "Flower Frames 2". The designer paper is by Memory Box, the pearls are by Zva Creative, the ribbon is by May Arts and the bow was tied with a Bow Easy. Though not very visible, there are several layers of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist and some Lace Stickles for some added shimmer. The ribbon was "ruffled" by adding small pieces of Scor-tape under each loop of ribbon...it took a few minutes, but was very easy to do....with no glue gun!

I have also incorporated this week's Featured Stamper Challenge in this card as well. Because of the fantastic layout, I chose this gorgeous card from Krischir's gallery....wow, her gallery is awesome!!!

I have also included the following challenges in the making of this card:
Corrosive Challenge: Things that move;
Paper Sundaes: Adorn Those Corners;
Stampin Sisters In Christ: Encouragement;
Crazy 4 Challenges: Script Paper or script embossing folder (this Memory Box paper has script on it, but most of it got covered up...you can still see some at the top center);
Speedy the Cat's Friends' Challenge: have a bow on your card;
Paper Cutz: Anything goes;
Charisma Cardz: One for the girls;
Delightful Challenges: Flower Power.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Not sure if I will have a post on Tuesday, but make sure you come back for the New Release/Blog Hop for Our Daily Bread designs on Wednesday, December 1st!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!!! Hope your day is filled with many blessings and lots of yummy food too!!! Today is also Bible Verse Thursday over at Christian Paper Crafts, but I wanted first of all to thank all of you lovely visitors to my blog each week, thanks to my wonderful Design Team sisters at Our Daily Bread designs and Christian Paper Crafts, and thank the Lord for the countless, countless blessings He shows me each and every day!!!!!

One of my most wonderful blessings is my dear hubby, Tom, who has loved me unconditionally for 19 years and supports me in all that I do! Love you, honey!!! He actually came up with the idea for this week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge, which is NO COLORING ALLOWED! He did not want me to spend too much time making his birthday card this week, so he said that there was no coloring allowed and.....Hey, that would make a good challenge! I guess he DOES listen to my stamping ramblings, bless his heart!!! So, there you have it....only basic stamping or distressing...no coloring tools allowed...and don't forget the scripture verse!!

I have also combined the following challenges in the making of Tom's birthday card:
Jen's Color Monday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts...of light blue and shades of brown;
Midnight Madness Sketch.....love the Clean and Simple Sketch...couldn't pass it up!;
Fab -n- Funky: Going with the flow/Anything goes;
For Fun Challenges: Anything goes;
Little Red Wagon: Basic Grey.

Card details:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs' "Ask, Seek, Knock";
Cardstock: Crumb Cake and Naturals White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey "Granola";
Accessories: Key Charm, Silver Brads, EK Success border punch, May Arts Twill Ribbon, Spellbinders Square Nestabilities, sponge dauber, paper piercer and template.

Thanks so very much for visiting today! Hope you have the most blessed Thanksgiving weekend!!!

Curio Birthday Card and Gift Tag

I don't know if you have seen the new Basic Grey "Curio" designer paper line, but I'm in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! So vintage and shabby chic....yummy!!! I have used two different designs from this pack for my card and tag here today.

First of all, the tag was made using the "Poinsettia Tag Set" (sentiment) and the Tag Die from Our Daily Bread designs which cuts out the new tag stamps perfectly. I just wanted to illustrate with this tag that they are so versatile and can be used for way more than just holiday tags! (By the way, the "Angie" stamp is from my old stamp stash...it's not an ODBD stamp....just wanted to make that clear! lol!)

The ODBD Tag Die and placement guide are not only perfect for cutting out the ODBD tag sets, BUT I have used it here to center the pattern of the designer paper within the tag. Once the guide was in place, I used a pen and marked the guide holes.

After the holes were inked, the tag die was placed face down. The guide holes were lined up and scotch tape was applied to the edges to hold it in place before running through my Wizard die cut machine. Please note: use at least one piece of tape on each corner to ensure that the die does not move due to the pressure of the die cut machine.

Some Basic Grey pearls and May Arts ribbon was added to this tea light set, for my BFF's birthday this week.

Now....it's sneaky peek time! The matching birthday card to go with the tag is featuring a brand new stamp set from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Blessings" (another addition to the "Full of Grace" line), which will be released on December 1st! Since the Basic Grey Curio paper is darkened around the edges, once I cut my panel, I used masking and sponged Stazon Timber Brown on the cut edges....this was a perfect saturating color to match the paper....love when a plan works out!!!

For the sentiment panel, I temporarily adhered a punched Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly over the sentiment, sponged with chocolate chip and sprayed Terra Cotta and Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mists over the mask and the rest of the card. The close-up view shows a little bit of the shimmer, especially if you click and enlarge the photo.

I have used Gloria's fabulous Sketch Tuesday Challenge from Christian Paper Crafts, along with the following challenges in the making of this card set:

Fab & Funky: "Going with the Flow" (anything goes);

For Fun Challenges: Anything Goes;

Gingersnap Creations: Vintage Hues;

Little Red Wagon: Basic Grey (I used Curio).

Oooh....here's another reminder about Our Daily Bread designs' Free Shipping special which starts on Thanksgiving Thursday and ends Sunday, November 28. Not only do you receive free shipping on all US orders, but anyone who leaves a comment on Thursday's post on the ODBD blog has a chance to win a Bread Basket Bundle, which is all of the November releases!! How cool is that?!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you back here tomorrow for a new Bible Verse Thursday Challenge!

Snowflake Gift Box

Yep, still showing off these awesome tag sets and matching Tag Die from Our Daily Bread designs which were released earlier this month. (Note: Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog post here.....I will show you that these tags sets are not JUST for the winter holidays!)

This is a close-up photo of the gift box I made while doing a project for Our Daily Bread designs blog for the Techniques, Tutorials, and Tips post......all of the instructions on how to make a gift box are right here......very quick and easy! It actually took longer to write up the instructions than it did to make the actual box!

For the tag, I used the "Mistletoe Tag Set" along with the matching "Tag Die". The tag stamp was embossed in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder, cut out with the tag die, stamped, colored, then sprayed with "Irridescent Gold" Glimmer Mist for extra sparkle......please click on the photo for a closer view of the Glimmer Mist.

Here is a view of the entire gift box.....since I did not want to cover up the gorgeous SEI snowflake paper, I used only May Arts Crocheted Ribbon as an embellishment.

I was inspired by the following challenges for the making of this box:
Crafty Cardmakers: Containers or fancy envelopes;
Die Cut Dreams: Anything but a card;
Our Creative Corner: Create a Holiday 3D item;
ABC Christmas Challenge: X = Xmas;
Pile It On: Winter means......snowflakes and gift boxes!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! God bless!!
