Faux Silk Tutorial and Samples!


Happy Monday, everyone! I have two cards to share with you today, which I made while doing a "Faux Silk" tutorial over at the Our Daily Bread designs blog....check out the video and post HERE. We are in the middle of Anniversary Week over at ODBD, leading up to Saturday's reveal of the new Scripture Collection sets. Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Faithful Friend' (dragonfly), 'Sweet Friendship' (scripture);
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Basic Black', 'Old Olive', and 'Whisper White';
Designer paper: Made with recycled tissue paper and stamps;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up 'Old Olive' Marker, Spica Glitter Pen;
Accessories: Xyron Sticker Maker, paper piercer and template, Nestabling pearls;
Size: A2.


My next sample also shows the 'Faux Silk' technique, but I've used patterned tissue paper instead of plain for the background.


Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Special Blend';
Cardstock: Stampin Up 'Not Quite Navy' and 'Very Vanilla';
Designer Paper: Recycled tissue paper;
Ink: Stampin Up 'Not Quite Navy' and Ranger 'Antique Linen';
Accessories: Bow Easy, May Arts Satin Ribbon, Zva Creative Pearls, Xyron Sticker maker, foam tape, paper piercer and template;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Both of these are stunning! Love how you did the background paper with the dragon flies and the second one is gorgeous with the tea pot and frame.

I just watched your video and loved the Faux Silk technique. I thought the tea set was a stamp before I came back to look at the video. Now I see that you use a designer tissue paper. I think this card is absolutely gorgeous.
