"Light of the Lord" Tiki Hut!

Happy Saturday, everyone! It's a sunny, cold day here in Indiana....it's a good things it's cold so that I won't feel guilty for staying inside and working all day! Next Saturday is Our Daily Bread designs' 4th Anniversary, so today kicks off our Anniversary Week Celebrations.....check out the Shining the Light Anniversary Themed Challenge today. For lots of info about ODBD (Our Daily Bread designs), and an itinerary for Anniversary Week, check out Betty's post HERE! Also, there is a BIG SALE going on.....check out Lisa's post HERE! Hope you join us for some fun!!!

When the March sets came out this month, as soon as I saw the bamboo window frame from the "Sweet Friendship" set, I knew I wanted to make a triple window scene. Using masking, I stamped the image three times, then cut the inside and outside with paper snips....luckily I didn't have to use my craft knife, since there was lots of room to work with scissors after cutting a rough hole in the middle of each window. The scene was created by stamping the lighthouse from "Light of the World", then layered "The Mighty Sea" over that. The sea was actually stamped twice, then pieced together in order to extend the scene to the length of the triple frame....the seam is behind the frame. Once the coloring was finished (sponge daubers and ink pads for the sky and sand, and markers for the rest), I used another new set, "The Light of Life", for the stamped verse. The frame behind the windows was created by covering a light piece of cardboard with Scor-tape, then layering pieces of raffia across it. It was a bit tedious, but worth it! Feel free to click on each photo for a close-up view.
