Bible Verse Thursday / Stamping In Time Challenge Combo!

Good Thursday morning!!! It's time for another Bible Verse Thursday / Stamping In Time Combo again!!! Since the ODBD Stamping In Time: On Assignment challenges are every other Thursday, in order to play along I love to combine with my Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts...love to kill as many birds as possible with one stone!

This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge is a fun one that I think everyone should be able to play along with......"On The Farm"! Create a card, layout, or altered item with absolutely any connection to farm life.....here are some examples to help you think outside of the box....your project could be about:
the Good Shepherd or His flock, or farm animals, bugs, things you grow, scenery, rain or sun which are necessary to grow crops, use barn red as your inspiration, country colors, harvest time, and so on and so on!! Get the picture? (Don't forget your scripture verse....after all, it's Bible Verse Thursday!) The Keyword at CPC is BVT93, but if you post to another online gallery, please use the Keyword CPC-BVT93. Hope you have time to play along!!

Today is also the first day of a new Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge at the Our Daily Bread designs blog! This week we have a guest hostess....one of her gorgeous cards was actually featured yesterday for ODBD Customer Card of the Day.....the lovely and talented, Wanda Cullen!!! The Assignment is the same.....use your ODBD stamps....the challenge is "Distressing"! Use tearing, sponging, a distressing tool, wad up your paper for a worn look....whichever kind of distressing you prefer! Paste a direct link your project to the linky tool on the original challenge post here. If you need help with the "how-to's" of challenges, please see this tutorial on the ODBD blog.

Tuesday Throwdown Button Challenge!

Digis by Fred She Said, Card Designer Angie Crockett

Hi everyone!! This is my second project as February Guest Designer for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog! I'm having a blast so far!

This week's sponsor for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge is "Fred She Said" Digital Stamps. They have so many gorgeous digital stamps available, even some that are already colored! You'll have to go and check them out!!! I picked out the "Hearts and Roses Digi Set"....I just love the scalloped heart and the roses are gorgeous....the set comes with three different sentiments too! The winner of this week's challenge will win a $20 Gift Certificate to the "Fred She Said" online store!!

This week's challenge theme is BUTTONS! For my sample, I made my own 5-layer buttons out of cardstock, designer paper scraps, a heart punch, a Cropodile (super duper hole punch), and Ranger Glossy Accents.....if you'd like to learn how to make your own buttons, check out my tutorial here! It's so easy and so fun.....the only hard part is waiting an hour for the glaze to dry!

Card details:
I started off by printing the digital image from the "Hearts and Roses Digi Set" from "Fred She Said", onto vanilla cardstock, vellum, and on the Basic Grey "June Bug" designer paper. Since ink takes a while to dry on vellum, I clear embossed the image as soon as it came out of the printer. Once the vellum was embossed and the image cut out, I turned it over and colored the roses with markers. The image printed on the designer paper was cut out, edges sponged in brown, and the roses were highlighted with markers for dimension. I ran the designer paper piece through a Xyron sticker maker and made the printed side a sticker to adhere cleanly to the vellum layer with no adhesive marks. After the two hearts were adhered together, I colored in the scalloped edge and highlighted the roses with a Gelly Roll Glitter Pen. A second sheet of the "June Bug" designer paper was trimmed down and the edges were punched all of the way around with an EK Success Dotted Scallop Border Punch, sponged in brown, and adhered to a vanilla cardstock mat. The sentiment (also from "Hearts and Roses") and its mat were cut out with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Ovals and stenciled in brown. Zva Creative Pearls, "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, and May Arts Satin Ribbon tied with a Bow Easy finished out the card.

Along with the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge, I have used the following challenges in the making of this card:

Color Monday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts: use this gorgeous inspiration photo, with rich reds and cream!;

Count Your Blessings!

This is a quick birthday card I made for a co-worker....it was nice to make a Clean and Simple card for once.....good thing I had a good sketch and some fun challenges to help me find my way! :)

I used the "Faux Tearing" technique for the first time...very fun and very easy....I tore a piece of scratch paper to mask the corner, then stamped the "Wood Background" stamp from Our Daily Bread designs over the Kraft panel; sponged over the edge of the scratch paper and edges; removed the scratch paper and stamped the sentiment from the "Blessings - the Full of Grace Collection" in the corner. Added paper piercing, pewter brads, and SU grosgrain ribbon to finish.

I have used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Our Daily Bread designs' Shining the Light Anniversary Challenge: choose from the top ten past Shining the Light Challenges.....I chose "Distressing" and "Something Old and Something New" (the old is the SU Handsome Hunter ribbon and cardstock, the new is a new technique, "Faux Tearing", which I had not done before);
Christian Paper Crafts: Fun on Friday Challenge: "Faux Tearing", the Clean and Simple Saturday Challenge from today..."Paper Piercing", and the Clean and Simple Saturday Sketch from a few weeks ago;
One Stop Craft Challenge: Numbers;
Our Creative Corner: Use a tree image;
Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast: I chose these Teak Wood Coasters from the Uncommon Goods online store....very fun store...check it out!!;
Little Red Wagon: Kraft.

Happy Thursday, everyone!!! Time for another Bible Verse Thursday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts! This week's theme is Anything Nautical! If you would like to join us at Christian Paper Crafts for fellowship, to play in the challenges, or soak up inspiration from the project gallery, the lowest membership fee is $9.95. Why a fee to be a member, you ask? Christian Paper Crafts, by membership, is now a private site, with a safe environment for more personal conversations and prayer requests....plus it keeps the spammers out....that's always a good thing, huh? For more information on the different levels of membership and their benefits, please click on this link. Our Daily Bread designs February New Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the February New Release Blog Hop for Our Daily Bread designs! Another brand new month will lots of brand new goodies to show off....to see all of the February New Releases, check out the New Release post on the ODBD blog. All of the Breadsticks have created some amazing samples with the new sets...get ready to hop and see them all!

You're right....this isn't my usual frilly type of card! :) I absolutely LOVE this new background stamp, "He Shall Be Called" and wanted to feature it for the hop today. There was a vellum scrap on my desk which caught my eye, so I started out by grabbing some SEI chalk ink since I love to clear emboss with it, especially on vellum. The ocean blue ink led me to the SEI "Bridgeport" designer paper.....so bright and cheerful! The embossing was a success, so I trimmed around the print to look like deckle scissors (I was too lazy to get up and look for the real ones!), sponged the edges in SU Early Espresso, ran the vellum through my Xyron sticker maker, and adhered to the SEI designer paper. I didn't want to add too many embellishments which would take the attention off of the powerful stamp, so I sponged the edges, paper pierced, and added linen thread and brads. It's "different", but I hope you like it!!

Now, the moment you've been waiting for......on with the hop!!!!

If you hopped here from Debi’s Blog, then you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start at the ODBD Blog....we don't want you to miss a thing!

The Hop will run from 8am EST Feb. 1 until 8pm EST on Feb. 2. Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Feb. 3rd, along with Sandee’s fabulous "Time With" project!

Kelley is giving away SIX prizes this month! FIVE people will win one Single Fish Stamp of their choice, and ONE blessed person will win the FEBRUARY BREAD BASKET BUNDLE! Isn't that awesome?! Thanks, Kelley!!!

To be eligible to win, here is what you have to do:

Hop to each blog on the list and leave a comment for each designer;
Return to the ODBD Blog and tell us you completed the hop, letting us know if there were any blogs you could not comment on;
Answer the question on the ODBD blog… you do not need to answer it on the designer’s blogs...just the ODBD blog.

Your next stop is Julie's blog.....she has another amazing creation to show you!

February Guest Designer for Tuesday Throwdown!

Guess who is the February Guest Designer for the
Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog?! Little ole me!! I have played in their challenges on and off since the beginning of their blog a little over a year ago....there are some really fun challenges each week and what an amazing Design Team too! What an honor to be a part of the team for a month!

This week's challenge is "Stitching"...either faux or real. Our sponsor this week, Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps has provided the team with some gorgeous digi-designer paper, "My Summer Garden", and digital stamps for our samples this week....I chose "I Heart You" for my sample.

Card details:
The scalloped heart image was printed twice on white cardstock and twice on the gorgeous burgundy digi-paper. The hearts were cut out of the burgundy, the edges sponged with SU Early Espresso, and paper-pieced over the white scallops.....it was a lot of cutting, but I love how it turned out. Some freehand paper piercing and faux stitching with a Signo Gel Pen were added to each heart. The background designer paper is also from the "My Summer Garden" pack....sponging, paper piercing, and faux stitching was added here as well. To finish out the card, some May Arts Crocheted ribbon and satin ribbon tied with a Bow Easy were added, plus some mini roses and pearl flourishes from Zva Creative. The grand finale is "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, although it doesn't show well from this angle.

I have also used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Color Monday Challenge at Christian Paper Crafts (Inspiration Photo to the left): burgundy, pink, brown, white....perfect!;
