First up is a card created for my niece, Paxton, who will turn 2 this month.  I fell in love with the Pretty Pink Peonies Paper Collection this month since it is all floral yumminess!  I picked this particular design from the paper pack since it was more whimsical than elegant...perfect for a birthday cake!  It was so fun trying to come up with die sets to help my vision come to life:  the cake stand was cut from the Bitty Borders Dies and the Letter T Die (upside down); the two cake tiers were cut with the Rounded Rectangles Dies, the light pink scallops were also cut with the Bitty Borders Dies; the candles were cut with the Birthday Candles Dies, and the tiny hearts were cut with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies set.  The top pink layer was dry embossed with the new 'Damask' Mixed Media Stencil, then cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies and matted with the Scalloped Rectangles Dies.  The 'Niece' sentiment was cut with the new Family Names 3 Dies and the number '2' was cut with the new Long and Lean Numbers Dies.

My second card was created with the following items: Cross Stitch Embossing Folder, Long and Lean Letters Dies, Pretty Pink Peonies Designer Paper, Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Leafy Edged Borders Dies, Large Banners Dies, Layering Hearts Dies, and the Clouds and Raindrops Dies (tiny hearts).  After dry embossing with the Cross Stitch Embossing Folder, the panel was burnished with Inka-Gold paste, then buffed off.  To match the shimmery gold background, I incorporated gold metallic cardstock with the beautiful designer paper layers.  (P.S. I love this floral designer paper so much, I would love to wallpaper my house with it!!  LOL!!!)  Pink baker's twine was added to the banner tag and along the curve of the border die.

My third card is a birthday card for my mom, which features the 'Daughter's Best Friend' stamp set, along with the Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, Bitty Butterflies Dies, and the center oval die from the Mini Bow Die set.  My Mom loves the deep burgundy peonies in the spring, so I began by stamping onto watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black, colored the flower centers yellow, then sealed them with a clear glaze pen.  The peonies were colored all over with a melon marker, then a raspberry marker on the inside edges of each petal, then watercolored with the same raspberry ink to blend with the darkest sections.  The background was watercolored with aqua.  The next to largest die from the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies set was used to cut out the image panel and it was used to emboss the stitching into the melon scalloped frame.  For the ribbon treatment, I used the center die from the Mini Bow Die to cut an oval aperature into the panel so that part of the ribbon could run under the panel.  Yellow gemstones were added to coordinate with the flower centers and a butterfly was cut with the Bitty Butterflies Dies and sponged to match the flowers and cardstock.
