Hi everyone! Today I would like to share a sample I made while doing a video tutorial for Our Daily Bread designs on the "Bleached Image Tutorial" last month. I showed different variations of the technique....this one I colored the image first, then bleached portions of it for a variegated look.
For the longest time I shied away from this technique from the fear of the bleach itself, but I'm super happy with the Clorox Bleach Pen, which is a gel-typed substance and you only need a small dab at a time. Sure, you can smell a little bleach, but it is not overwhelming...yay!! Once it dries, after a few days, there was no smell at all. My advice is to wait a few days before you give your card to someone....just in case!
Card 'Ingredients;
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Dahlia' and 'Be Joyful';
Cardstock: Stampin Up Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand;
Designer Paper: Bo Bunny 'Country Garden';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Stampin Up 'Marina Mist' Marker;
Accessories: Clorox Bleach Pen, Cheery Lynn Designs 'Fanciful Flourish', Spellbinders Labels 26, paint brush, paper piercer, foam tape, craft knife;
Size: 4-1/2 x 4-1/2.
The dahlia flower was stamped, colored, and bleached twice, then cut out (one of the flowers was trimmed smaller). To create even more dimension, I used a craft knife on the top layer, around the tips of each petal and then curled them upward. This makes it look like there are multiple layers, with much less cutting...I LIKE that!!
Thanks for visiting! Have a very blessed day!!
