Here are the new and previously released items from Our Daily Bread designs, which are featured in my two projects today:
My first project is an 8x8 journal page. The new 'My Shepherd' journaling stamp was stamped on the left side of the panel, colored with markers, then a clear Glaze Pen was used on the sheep so that the sponged clouds wouldn't turn them blue...it was much easier to glaze them rather than mask them. The lamb from 'The Shepherd' was stamped three times using masking, colored parts of them with a blush marker and sponged the grass with green ink before adhering the fence which was cut with the ODBD Custom Fence Die. The cloud background was created by sponging aqua ink over a template cut from the ODBD Custom Clouds and Raindrops Dies set. Some of my fave scriptures were printed from my pc, trimmed by hand, edges sponged, then popped up with foam tape. (Note: for a closer look, click on the photo.) This was very fun to make....I can't wait to create the next page for my scripture journal scrapbook.
My 2nd project is a bookmark. These new stamps were designed with Bible Journaling in mind, but they make the best bookmarks too!!! The white panel was cut out with the largest die in the ODBD Custom Bookmarks Dies set; the outside mat was trimmed by hand on the curved lines and trimmed with a paper cutter on the straight edges. Once 'The Anchor' image was stamped, the rope, anchor, shells, and clouds were colored with markers then coated with a clear Glaze Pen. Once the glaze was dry, I put the panel back into the die, then used sponges to color in the rest....the glaze pen acted as a resist. By putting the white panel back in the die before sponging, the white edge stays protected. I was going to give this to someone at church, but it makes me happy so I think I'll keep this one and make more bookmarks for my church group!

Thanks for hanging out with me and my Sistah Sticks today!
God bless!
I'm really amazed at how something so simple as doodling can be so beautiful. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteThe bookmark is awesome. I will definitely order one or more of these stamps, as I make bookmarks for my friend, who buys paperback books to read and then conveniently leaves them in public places for others to pick up, leaving in it a scripture bookmark. One little way of witnessing.
ReplyDeleteI love your 8 X 8 journal too. There are so many details that go into the simple beauty of the page, such as the sheep, the fence, the clouds, and especially, the scriptures. May God bless you throughout the new year.
Oh both are so pretty Angie! Love your journal page! Such pretty details and I know the Scriptures are very special! Love the pretty book mark! Who wouldn't love to use that in their Bible or book?

Hi Angie,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects! I especially like the backgrounds you created for both of them. This is the first I'm seeing or hearing of Bible-page journaling. My Bible does not have room on the pages for these stamps, but I would for sure use them as bookmarks like you have. Thanks for sharing with us.
Both projects are beautiful, Angie! What a great idea to do your Bible journaling in a scrapbook. Love how you added your favorite scripture verses to your page!
