Operation Write Home / Our Daily Bread designs Challenge

Hello, everyone! I am so honored to be the guest-hostess for the September edition of the Our Daily Bread designs Monthly Challenge over at Operation Write Home! Those of you who are familiar with OWH (Operation Write Home) may know that they not only support our troops by delivering hand-made cards to them, but also host fun stamping challenges each week, along with the ODBD sponsored monthly challenge.  Check this out:  during this Labor Day weekend, OWH is hosting ten fun challenges during a Virtual Card Making Party!! If you are not familiar with Operation Write Home, please read this post over at the ODBD Blog, or visit Operation Write Home directly and see what it's all about! Would you like to lift up our service men and women or their families on the homefront? Donate hand-made cards (or funds) to help this wonderful cause!! Do you have leftover cards with no recipient in mind? Find all you need to know at Operation Write Home!

Operation Write Home / ODBD Monthly Challenge for the month of September:
Not only is it so important that our Heroes abroad feel our love and support, but their loved ones on the homefront have their own challenges as well. Receiving beautiful, hand-made cards from their Heroes makes such a difference in their lives.

So, my challenge for you this month is to create cards which include either a scripture verse, or an uplifting quote or sentiment. Happy Stamping and God bless you for supporting this wonderful cause!

To participate in the challenge, visit this post at OWH, link up your project, and please leave a comment while you are there. To show my gratitude to OWH for allowing me to be a part of the challenge, and to thank you, the faithful readers, I am personally giving away some blog candy (shown below)......leave a comment here on this blog post by Monday, Sept.3rd at midnight EDT.  Random.org will do the rest!  I will announce the winner sometime on Tuesday here on my blog.

For my card sample, I have used a new set from Our Daily Bread designs, called "Be Joyful". I created the background by stamping the flower flourish multiple times, colored them with sponges & ink plus markers, then added a Cheery Lynn Designs "Fanciful Flourish" and "Border Carnivale" strip, along with the scripture verse framed with Spellbinders Lacey Ovals and Oval Nestabilities. Though I normally pop up all of my layers with foam tape, I intentionally made this one "OWH Friendly", with no popped layers or thick embellishments. I will be donating this to OWH as soon as I can round up a few more A2 sized cards.

Below is the Blog Candy which I will be giving away, which includes the "Joy To The World Hymn" by Our Daily Bread designs, a Bow Easy, a "Fanciful Flourish" die by Cheery Lynn Designs, some Sizzix Embossing Folders, three packages of 3-d stickers, plus a few hand-made items by me. Who knows?  I may just round up some more goodies over the weekend!!
Thanks for visiting!  If you are able to handle a bit more excitement this morning, you'll have to check out the Our Daily Bread designs September New Release Blog Hop, which begins at 8 am sharp EDT!  Lots of beautiful eye candy and more chances to win!!

Have a very blessed weekend!!  God bless!

  1. Angie, thanks so much for being a part of our Labor Day Weekend VCMP. Your card is beautiful and your blog candy is over the top packed full of great items.

Love how you made the background with a stamp - at first I thought it was patterned paper. Gorgeous!

  2. OWH is a great place to send cards. Not long ago I put a bunch together and sent them off....just discovered the monthly challenges and look forward to joining in. I understand what you mean about more A2 cards. You always put so many lovely layers together its a challenge to keep it smaller and simpler, but you did a great job, fab BG paper and great sentiment.
