Our Daily Bread designs July New Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs July New Release Blog Hop!!!! If you haven't yet, you must check out all of the new sets on the New Release post HERE!!!

For my sample, I am using the "Old Flag Background" along with a scripture verse from the coordinating set, "Not Forgotten" . Though these two stamps were designed with soldiers in mind, I have combined the two to make a graduation card for my brother, Sean, who will be headed off to college soon.....he will definitely need some strength from the Lord to stand strong in a "worldly" environment. Today's Ways to Use It Challenge at Splitcoast is to celebrate July.....July 4th is not only Independence Day, but also National Country Music Day.....since Sean is going to school to help him reach his dream of becoming a country music star, this card fits perfectly for the challenge!

Since I don't have Copic markers yet, I like to get a smooth colored look on my images by coloring with sponge daubers and ink pads. I stamped an extra flag image on a scratch paper, cut the sections apart, and used temporary adhesive to create masks to cover the white sections of the flag while coloring with the sponge daubers. I "stamped off" and stamped the image again for the sentiment panel.....if you look close, you can see that the background design of the sentiment panel matches the background. Finished with some paper piercing, silver brads to match the silver charm, linen thread, and some brown sponging around the edge.

The inside of the graduation card was stamped with a verse from Scripture Collection 2 and the sentiment from "For The Graduate".....then filled with some moolah, of course!! :)

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Old Flag Background', 'Not Forgotten', 'Scripture Collection 2', and 'For The Graduate';
Cardstock: SU Soft Suede and Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Timber Brown, SU Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, and Early Espresso;
Accessories: Spellbinder Oval Nestabilities, SU Linen Thread, Silver brads and charm, paper piercer and template, sponge daubers;
