You're Purr-fect!

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a birthday card created for my niece, using the My Favorite Things Color Challenge, along with Sketch Challenge #912 from Splitcoast.  I combined the kitty image and sentiment from 'Housecats' with the Happy Birthday Circle Die and gingham paper which is now retired.  The image was stamped on watercolor paper with Stazon Jet Black, water-colored, then fussy cut (since I forgot to order the dies). The following dies from Divinity Designs LLC were also used: Pierced Rectangles, Scalloped Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer.

Divinity Designs LLC July New Release!

Hi, everyone! It's time for another new release from Divinity Designs LLC!  This time around we are in SUMMER MODE!!  Check out all of the new goodies HERE!

Below are the new items featured in my three projects for today:

My first card was super fun to make; it features the new Flip Flops Layering Combo Dies, Mini Slimline Pierced Frames Dies, a fun pattern from the Pretty Patterns 3 Paper Pad.  Other items used include the Inspiration Words Dies, Foam Mounting Tape, Sequins, and the Mini Slimline Card Base Die.  The flip flops, frame, and words were cut out of yellow, copper, and red foil cardstock to give them extra shine.....the camera does not capture the shimmer, unfortunately!
My second card features the Slimline Palm Leaves Embossing Folder, a fun pattern from the 'By The Shore' paper pad, sentiment from 'Happy Trails', the Happy Birthday and Layers Dies set, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Matting Rectangle Die, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies, and Blending Brushes. The 'Happy' die created the cut-out to show the turquoise layer below.  A Blending Brush was used to lightly add kraft highlights to the embossed layer. Linen thread was added as a finishing touch.

My third project also featured the Palm Leaves Embossing Folder and Flip Flop Layering Combo Dies.  After embossing with white cardstock, two shades of green were sponged, then Inka Gold shimmer paste was burnished over the inked embossing.  The camera did not capture it well, but the raised areas of the background are golden.  Also featured in this card are the following dies: Bitty Blossoms, Ferns, Slimline Happy Birthday and Layers, Slimline Pierced Rectangles, Slimline Rectangles, and the Slimline Card Base.

Thanks for visiting with us today!

Gone Fishing

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Wildlife Wonders.....this throw blanket reminded me of the 'Great Catch' Stamp/Die Duos set from Divinity Designs LLC.  When I opened the stamp case, I found that I had water-colored an image previously so this card went together really quickly.....yay!!  For the background scene, I used the following: Slimline Mountain Silhouette Dies, Slimline Curvy Slopes Dies, Grass Border Die, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Matting Rectangle Die, A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer Dies, and a pattern from the Heavenly Skies Slimline Paper Pad.  The bass and lure were popped up with Foam Mounting Tape.

Happy Birthday, Niece!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Ona aka wombat146.....congrats, Ona!! Wow, what an amazing gallery!!  I was drawn to this gorgeous digital masterpiece....the colors were absolutely stunning!!  For my card, I chose a colorful pattern from the  Watercolor Paper Pad by Divinity Designs LLC and paired it with an orchid shade of foiled cardstock (since the edges of her flower looks purple).  I used the Thinking of You and Layers Dies; first the 'shadow' die was used to cut the opening in the designer paper, then the word dies were cut from those cut-outs so that when I adhered the words, they would blend with the flower image.  Other dies used: Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer, Treat Tags Dies, Mini Tags Dies, the 'To My Favorite' stamp set, and Pixie Gems.

Ocean Wave Inspiration

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from the Linen Chest....when I saw this awesome ocean wave print, I knew I had to try out the 'Waves of Inspiration' set by Stampin Up.  I used the MISTI and several colors of markers to get this multi-colored wave.  I love how it turned out....the new textured stamps give so much more dimension.....LOVE them!!!

#1 Dad

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'All About Dad'.....I'm cheating a bit since I made this card last year but never posted it anywhere.  I began with kraft cardstock, stenciled with brown, navy, and green inks with Blending Brushes over the 'Diamonds' Stencil from Divinity Designs LLC.  The letters from the 'Large Alphabet' Dies were used to cut out 'DAD', then popped up with Foam Mounting Tape, a bit offset so the navy mat showed underneath.  Other dies used are: Alphabet Caps, Sparkling Stars, Slimline Rectangles, Slimline Pierced Rectangles, Slimline Card Base.

Sweet Thoughts of You

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Happy Happy Nester...the article I found was about creating floral napkin rings, but I fell in love with the yellow gingham napkins and went straight for my gingham paper assortment. I cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 panel from the gingham, then used a Double Stitched Rectangle Die from Divinity Designs LLC to cut the frame to adhere to the white card base. (This leaves me another gingham panel already die cut for another card!) The little girl's dress was paper-pieced with the gingham paper as well.  The images and sentiment from the 'Catching Butterflies' set were stamped onto the white card base; aquapainter and markers colored the images and the background was lightly sponged with aqua.  A touch of glitter pen was added to the butterfly and a flight trail was added with a journaling pen.  A yellow gingham bow was tied using the Bow Easy for a finishing touch.
