You're Like, Really Old!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoast is to find inspiration from Bluebellgray.....this gorgeous water bottle helped me to create this 50th birthday card for my step-mom. (My step-mom is younger than me, so I was able to get away with this sentiment!)   I dug out some marbled designer paper by Craft Consortium, along with these custom dies from Divinity Designs LLC: Large Numbers, Sentiment Strips 2, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer. The funny sentiment is from Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 3 by My Favorite Things.

Shake The Sand From Your Shoes

Hi, everyone!  This week's Color Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use ivory, light aqua, and teal.  My card today features all three, along with some sandy designer paper which I hope will be considered a "neutral".  I have used the following items from Divinity Designs LLC in the making of this shaker card: Stamps: Jesus Saves; Paper: Beautiful Beaches; Stencil: Water Spray; Dies: Pierced Frames, A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer; Misc: Shaker Supplies, X-press It Foam Tape.  After stenciling with the light aqua and teal, I used versamark and clear embossed the splashes before assembling the shaker.  Baker's twine was added for a final embellishment.

Life Is Better With You

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a CAS (clean and simple) card created for a friend's birthday.  The white card base was stenciled with light blue ink using the 'Circles' Mixed Media Stencil and Blending Brushes from Divinity Designs LLC.  Also from DD is this 'Fur-ever Friends' Stamp/Die Duos set. The image was stamped with Stazon Jet Black, water-colored, then popped up with foam tape over the sentiment which was cut and framed with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies.  Some Crystal Rhinestones were added as a finishing touch.

Happiest of Birthdays

Hi, everyone!  This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is embee46 (not sure what her name is).  I chose this awesome card to case today.  I loved the blended colors...the yellows and pinks and how they combined into orange tones, so I created a Wrinkle Free Distress background with So Saffron and Melon Mambo.  Once the panel was dry, I stamped this 'Botanical Beauty' background stamp (from Taylored Expressions) with Melon Mambo.  The sentiment is from 'Bitty Birthday Wishes' (from My Favorite Things).  The sentiment was cut out and framed with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies from Divinity Designs LLC; the WFD panel was cut with the Pierced Rectangles Dies, layered with the Matting Rectangle Die, also from Divinity Designs.

Ants and Cupcakes!

Hi, everyone!  This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is all about sharing your favorite sweet dessert.  My card today was made for my nephew's birthday....he is obsessed with ants and he loves vanilla cupcakes, so I combined the two for his card!  The ant die cuts were gifted to me from a dear sweet stamping friend from Splitcoast (thank you, Anne!) and the rest of the dies are from Divinity Designs LLC: Cakes & Candles, Slimline Grasses, Clouds and Raindrops, Letter Board, Happy Birthday and Layers, Pierced Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer. Extra candles were cut (for the wicks) so that the numbers could appear to be candles as well!  Googlie eyes were added to the ants for a finishing touch.

Doggone Wonderful

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a fun birthday card for my nephew, who loves dogs.  I used the color challenge from MFT since it was perfect for a masculine design.  The images from 'Best In Show' were stamped in Stazon Jet Black, fussy cut, popped up with foam tape, then water-colored.  The grass and clouds were sponged.  The scenic panel was cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies from Divinity Designs LLC and the clouds were sponged over a cloud cut out with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies. The edges of the card base were sponged to add a bit of depth.

Autumn Covered Bridge

Hi, everyone! This week's Friday Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to use something "taller than you".....for my card I used the Covered Bridge image (Blue Knight Stamps) which I recently picked up at a stamp show.  With the help of a Misti, the image was stamped multiple times with Stazon Jet Black to give complete covereage. (Larger images do not stamp well in the center).  The image was colored with sponges and markers.  Other items used for this card are as follows: Divinity Designs LLC Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, Rectangles Dies, Sentiment Strips 2 Dies, and the sentiment is from the 'Better Place' stamp set.

Divinity Designs LLC October New Release!

Hi, everyone!  Wow, September flew right by and now it's time for another new release from Divinity Designs LLC!  Before I discovered stamping, my favorite hobby was cross-stitching, so I was super excited to see the new cross stitch dies and sewing theme this month!!  To see the entire new release plus some AMAZING samples from the design team, click HERE!

Here are the new products featured in my projects for today:

My first card features the 'Keep Me In Stitches' stamp set, Embroidery Hoop Set Dies, and the Slimline Cross Stitch Background Die.  Additional products used: Floral Favorites Paper Pad, Large Alphabet Dies, Slimline Pierced Rectangles Dies, Slimline Rectangles Dies, Slimline Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Slimline Card Base Die.  Please note:  The cross stitch dies require a shim in order to completely cut out the tiny holes.  I used this fact to my advantage with my embroidery hoop design.....the scripture verse was stamped on white cardstock; without an extra shim I used the die so that only the outer edges would cut through. I placed a scratch paper mask over the area with the stamping (between the panel and the die), replaced the die and ran through again.  On the back side of the panel, I used scotch tape over the areas with the stamping to keep the partially cut holes in place, then poked out the ones around the edge.  Then the rest of the hoop was cut and assembled.  For the floral panel, I chose a pretty pattern from the Floral Favorites Paper Pad to be used with the Slimline Cross Stitch Background Die; a pretty pink border was stitched through the cut-out pattern.  A second piece of the same paper was used to cut a matching panel for the top layer, cut with the Slimline Rectangles Dies, matted with the Slimline Pierced Rectangles Dies.  After cutting and embossing the Large Alphabet letters, a clear glaze pen was used on the embossed areas.

My second card is a "clean and layered" design, featuring a wonderful quote from the 'Jesus is the Stitch' stamp set.  Other items used for this card are as follows: 'Soulful Stitches' Paper Pad, Sewing Set Dies, Scalloped Rectangles Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, and the A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies set. I love the simplicity of this card....simple stamping, sponging, and die-cutting....the most difficult part was wrapping the thread spool and gluing the thread to the card!! :)

Stay tuned throughout the month for more cards which include stitching!

Sweet Celebration Wishes

Hi, everyone!  Today I would like to share a sweet and simple birthday card for my niece, who just turned five.  The stamps and dies are from My Favorite Things, 'Sweet Celebration'....I've had these for many months and just got the chance to use them.  The image was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, then watercolored with Stampin Up re-inkers since I do not own Copic markers.  Before popping up the image with foam tape, the background was sponged with baby blue.  I will be submitting this in the 'Clean and Simple Genius' category in the 2021 Card Design Superstar contest at MFT.....wish me luck!!  I would LOVE to win a shopping spree!!!

Make the Days Count

Hi, everyone!  This week's Technique Lover's Challenge over at Splitcoast is 'Cutaway Corner'.  This was perfect to help me make a birthday card for my uncle which will be mailed tomorrow.  The stamps I used are from the 'Be Joyful' set by Divinity Designs LLC.  The image was stamped in Stazon directly onto the designer paper from the 'Weathered Wood' Paper Collection, then watercolored and highlighted with a white gel pen.  The same paper was used for the banner and word die.  Other items used: Slimline Lattice Embossing Folder, Family Names 3 Dies, Large Banners Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Circles Dies, Matting Rectangle Die, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer Dies.

Divinity Designs LLC September New Release

Hi, everyone!  Wow, August flew by and now it's time for another new release from Divinity Designs LLC!  This month's release is super fun and I'm having a blast creating with the new papers, dies, and stamps!  To see the entire new release and all of the designer samples, click HERE.

Here are the new items featured in my three projects for today:

My first card was super fun to create....I'm in love with this designer paper pattern from the new 'Buzzing Gnomes' Paper/Die Duos pack.  The card base and layers were cut with the Accordion Fold with Layers Die set, then decorated with the pre-printed images from the Paper/Die Duos set.  The sentiments are from 'Bee Mine' stamp set; the word dies were cut with the 'Bee Happy' Dies.  The Belly Band Die set was used to hold the card shut; the 'Busy Bee' Die set was used to cut out the layered bee sections from black, yellow, and vellum. The sentiment on the belly band and the card were framed with the Scalloped Ovals and Ovals Dies. The gnome on the inside of the card is 'sitting' on a ledge cut with the Sentiment Strips 2 Dies.

My next card features the new 'Be Joyful' stamp set which was stamped onto watercolor paper. The quail, chicks, and blue sky were water-colored. A white gel pen added markings to the feathers. The grass was sponged with the paper still in the die in order to keep the white frame.  The designer paper layers are from the 'Rustic Christmas' paper pad and the dies used are as follows: Double Stitched Pennant Flags and Pennant Flags (both re-sized to fit the sentiment); Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles, Matting Rectangle, and A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer.

My third project is a slimline design created with the new Lattice Slimline Embossing Folder, Bee Happy Dies, Buzzing Gnomes Paper/Die Duos, Slimline Pierced Frame, and Slimline Card Base. (Note: After embossing the lattice pattern on white, the de-bossed squares were sponged in light blue.)
