My First Cricut Card!

Happy Friday, everyone!  Today's Free4All Challenge over at Splitcoast is to make a birthday card for a boy.  If you frequent my blog, you have probably noticed that I make a LOT of boy birthday cards.....I have mostly nephews.....and a one year old great-niece....thank goodness I can now make some frilly little-girl cards!! :)

This is my very first Cricut card, by the way!  I am not one to "window-shop" unless I'm able to buy what I'm looking at! I have been avoiding looking at any of the cool machines out there, such as the Cricut....I'm afraid to find out about all of the lovely bells and whistles, because I'm not ready to invest yet. However, I was desperate and needed a train image for my nephew's birthday card, so I tried my sister-in-law's Cricut and came up with this card. I'm so sorry, I didn't write down which cartridge it was! Eek!! I took the pieces home with me to assemble later...big mistake...it took a while to figure out which pieces went where!!! So, after it was adhered together, I used a black journal marker and drew the accent lines in, plus cut out a light stream by hand...kinda cheesy, huh?

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Stampin Up 'Something To Celebrate' (sentiment);
Cardstock: Stampin Up Night of Navy, Always Artichoke, Naturals Ivory, Naturals White, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Oliver';
Accessories: Cricut, ? Cartridge, Scalloped Circle Punch, Stampin Up Corduroy Buttons, Paper Piercer and template (used marker to create 'Faux Stitching');
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

For a gift, I went to ChuckECheese and bought a $20 cup of tokens for him to spend during his next trip there! The tag and stamp are also Stampin Up.

I am linking the following challenges as well:
Fab-N-Funky: Celebrate "male-ness";
Ooh-la-la Challenge: Make It Manly;
Paper Playtime: Anything Goes;
Speedy the Fox Challenge: Blue Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

I try to ignore those new machines too, afraid I'll get drawn into another toy when I don't even make time to use/enjoy the ones I already have! Cute card, great job, what a fun gift idea!
