Digi T-Rex Birthday Wishes!

Hi everyone! Whew, two posts in one day! I couldn't resist the Ways To Use It Challenge today at Splitcoast...."Digi Day"! There are so many little boys in my family now, but I was on short supply of kiddie stamp sets, so I bought some digi stamps Doodle Dragon Studios (designed by Dustin Pike).....they are too cute!!!

I didn't realize how dull my printer ink looked until I was editing the photos....I'll have to check my settings before printing next time....argh!!! I would have retraced the lines by hand, but I was afraid I would screw it up, so....it is what it is.....my nephew will love it just the same!!! Also, I used the marker to "dot" the entire image....thought it would give a nice scaly appearance. It looks really good IRL, but once again, not so good in the photo. I do not claim to be a digi pro or a coloring pro, that is for sure!!! :)

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Dino Birthday by Doodle Dragon Studios, balloon drawn by hand, sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs 'Mini Tags 3';
Cardstock: SU Summer Sun and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Life of the Party';
Ink: Printer ink and SU markers;
Accessories: SU Linen Thread, Craft Knife (cut the image to tuck the thread through), Dew Drops, May Arts Twill Ribbon, Paper Piercer and Template, Foam Tape, Signo White Gel Pen to color teeth and claws;
Size: A2.

Hydrangea Blessings & a HUGE sale at ODBD!!

Hello, everyone! Thanks for stopping by during this busy, busy week! Just wanted to share a card I made over the weekend for a tutorial for the ODBD Blog for the "Masking Technique".....I even made a video, which still scares the pants off of me!! Check out the video and post HERE. It shows how I used one Hydrangea stamp and created the entire bouquet using masking.

After stamping and coloring the bouquet, I cut around the edge and popped it up over a vase I created by using a Spellbinders Mega Oval die with Prima "Romantique" designer paper, cut the oval in two and cut off the end of the oval to create the bottom of the vase.

God's Wonders

Happy Sunday, everyone! This week's Featured Stamper over at Splitcoast is Peggy McCurry......wowza, you should see her gallery! I chose this gorgeous card, first of all, for the interesting clean and simple design, plus the dahlia blossom won me over!

Since I didn't have any heavy weight white cardstock, I decided to change up the design a bit and use some new SU 'Wisteria Wonder' cardstock instead. The "Dahlia" stamp from Our Daily Bread designs was stamped in Stazon Jet Black ink, colored with a sponge dauber in Almost Amethyst, highlighted with a Wisteria marker, then cut out and popped up with foam tape. The leaves are May Arts Faux Suede Leaves. The scripture verse, also from Our Daily Bread designs, is from the "Porch" set. The bottom of the card was punched with an EK Success punch, the pearls are from Zva Creative, and there are several sprays of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, which thankfully showed up really well against this color....yay!!!!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs' 'Dahlia' and 'Porch';
Cardstock: SU Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Almost Amethyst inkpad and Wisteria Wonder marker ;
Accessories: May Arts Faux Suede Leaves, Ruler, Zva Creative Pearls, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, sponge dauber, foam tape, Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner;
Size: 6 x 4 -1/2.

Inspiration Challenge - Simple Things!

Happy Saturday, everyone! This week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast is a great one.....lots of beautiful products from the Ten Thousand Villages online store....I chose this gorgeous Batik Decorative Fan as my inspiration. When I saw it, I knew I had some designer paper with the exact colors in it. I still have several birthday cards to make for this month, so this makes one checked off my list....whew!

To bring out the colors in the designer paper by My Mind's Eye, I used SU Rich Razzleberry and Early Espresso.....yummy....chocolate raspberry! :) I haven't used my Cheery Lynn Designs cutting dies in a while, so I was happy to use them for this card. The Fanciful Flourish was cut into pieces and placed around the French Pastry Doily Die Cut....I cut it apart since I couldn't bear to hide any of the swirls under the doily! The sentiment from the "Little Things" set by Our Daily Bread designs was stamped on a Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities die cut, then using the die as a stencil, the border was sponged with Razzleberry ink and a sponge dauber. Though the square panel was pierced using a template, the circle was pierced by hand.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Little Things';
Cardstock: SU Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla;
Designer Paper: My Mind's Eye 'A Beautiful Day';
Ink: Stazon Timber Brown and SU Rich Razzleberry;
Accessories: Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily and Fanciful Flourish dies, Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist, Bow Easy, SU Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner, paper piercer and template, foam tape, sponge daubers, Zva Creative Pearls;
Size: 5 x 5.

In The Beginning Was The Word

Hello, everyone! Just wanted to share a fun card I made for the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge this week.....I couldn't pass up this sketch....I have trouble coming up with simple layouts for cards, so this helped me so much! This sketch gave the perfect opportunity to use the new "The Word of God" set by Our Daily Bread designs....this scripture verse from John is one of my all time favorites!!
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1

The Bible image was stamped in Versamark and heat-embossed with Ranger Fine-detail Gold Embossing Powder, cut out with paper snips and an exacto knife, colored with SU Markers and popped up over the three panels cut from My Mind's Eye designer paper. The scripture verse was gold-embossed as well.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'The Word of God';
Cardstock: SU More Mustard and Whisper White(image);
Designer Paper: My Mind's Eye 'Sunshine';
Ink: Versamark, SU Markers;
Accessories: Ranger Detail Gold Embossing Powder, heat tool, paper piercer and template, May Arts Crocheted Lace, Zva Creative pearls, Exacto Knife, foam tape, 'Irridescent Gold' Glimmer Mist;
Size: 5 x 6-1/2.

Thanks for visiting with me today! God Bless!

Shining the Light "Bookmark" Challenge

Happy Thursday, everyone! This week's Shining the Light Challenge on the Our Daily Bread designs blog is to create a bookmark. I made a ribbon bookmark with some May Arts Crocheted Lace and Satin Trim (yummy!) plus some SU Pink Pirouette cardstock to match. The butterflies and scripture are from the "Faith" set by Our Daily Bread designs. These were stamped on Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities, stenciled with Pink Pirouette (The Ways To Use It Challenge at Splitcoast is stenciling, BTW), then matted with Spellbinders Lacey Circles. To hide the ribbon, I cut two of each Lacey Circle to "sandwich" the ribbon inside.....I used Scor-tape to adhere the layers so that they wouldn't come apart. A little tip if you'd like to try one of these.....use one layer of flat ribbon unless you want the ends to be a bit "lumpy"! :) I am also entering this in the Papertake Weekly Challenge, which is "Anything Goes" this week...yay!!

'Ingredients' List:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Faith' set;
Cardstock: SU Pink Pirouette and Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Timber Brown, SU Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso;
Accessories: Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Circle Nestabilities, May Arts Crocheted Lace and Satin Trim, Spooled Pearls by Modern Romance, Scor-tape, sponge dauber;
Techniques: Bookmark, Coloring with Sponges;
Size: Approx 18 inches long by 2-1/2 inches wide.

Moxie Fab "Red & Rustic"

Happy Sunday, everyone! Hope your weekend has been blessed!

Oh My, Moxie Fab!!! I haven't played in the Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday challenge for quite some time. When I saw the current challenge, the photo at the left, I just had to play along! Today is the last day, so I'm squeaking it in just in time! The wood elements drew me in, and I don't make near enough red cards, so thought this would be a great opportunity!

I couldn't find my barn wood designer paper, so I used some wood print from the Basic Grey "Life of the Party" 6x6 paper pack. The daisies are from the new Our Daily Bread designs "Daisy" set. I stamped the daisy bouquet image on scratch paper, to create a mask, then stamped the image several times, using the mask so that the images would not overlap. The daisies were colored with Real Red, Summer Sun, and Old Olive markers, then the cut around them to show the wood paper underneath. The Mother Teresa quote and honey bees are from the "Simple Things" set, along with the ODBD Fence Die, are also by Our Daily Bread designs.

Some extra flowers were stamped, colored, cut out, and popped up for extra dimension.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Daisy' and 'Simple Things';
Cardstock: SU Real Red and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Life of the Party';
Accessories: ODBD Fence Die, Bow Easy, Michael's Gingham Ribbon, SU Corduroy button, paper piercer and template. foam tape, sponge dauber;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Markers and ink pads;
Size: 4-1/2 x 6.
