Autumn Door with Flower Soft

What a gorgeous fall day we are having today in Indiana! Some areas, like the famous Parke County, have been without color for several weeks, but my neighborhood is glowing!!!! This is a photo of a small portion of my back yard. Raking and mulching is not much fun, but the colors sure are a treat for the eyes!!!

Today I would like to share a card I made for my Mother-in-law's birthday. Before making any cards for my family, I always ask if there are any special requests.....this year, she asked for fall colors, so I was happy to make it so!

I've been trying to do more clean and simple designs, both for the sake of time and to save on products used, so I was thrilled to see this week's Feature Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast to help me out with ideas for this card. Michelle Pearson, aka istamp31, is the featured artist and wow, you should see her amazing gallery!!! I am casing this gorgeous card because of the clean layout...isn't her coloring perfect?! Congrats, Michelle....enjoy your special week!

This image and scripture verse are from the "Christmas Door" set by Our Daily Bread designs. I LOVE the versatility of ODBD stamps......most of them you can make work for whatever occasion you wish. I colored the door with Stampin Up markers, then added "Autumn" Flower Soft to create a fall colored garland instead of holly.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Christmas Door';
Cardstock: SU Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Indian Summer';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Markers: Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Pear Pizazz, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Ink pad;
Accessories: Bow Easy, SU Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon, May Arts Crocheted Lace, Zva Creative pearls, Paper piercer and template, 'Autumn' Flower Soft.
Size: 5-1/2 square.

Bible Verse Thursday - Give Thanks!

Happy Friday, everyone! After a busy week, I'm thankful to have some down time this weekend! This week's Bible Verse Thursday theme over at Christian Paper Crafts is 'Thankful for God's Love'. I have used the 'Give Thanks' set by Our Daily Bread designs for my sample. When I think about how much God loves us, it is hard to wrap my mind around what it really means! I pray daily for the Lord to soften my heart....that I could love others as much as He loves us. That is a big order, however, He created the heavens, the earth, and all that there is, so this should be small potatoes for Him, if I could only get my stiff-neck out of the way!

I wanted to make the most of the rich colors in this SEI designer paper, so I stamped the image in More Mustard, then overstamped the scripture verse in black. Once the circle was cut, I sponged Cajun Craze around the edge of the die.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Give Thanks';
Cardstock: SU More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: 'Homestead' by SEI;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU More Mustard and Cajun Craze;
Accessories: Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Circle Nestabilities, Gemstones by Nestabling, May Arts Crocheted Lace and Satin Ribbon, CM Corner Rounder, Paper Piercer and Template, Sponge Dauber, Foam Tape, Bow Easy;
Size: 5-1/2 square.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! God Bless!

ODBD Shining the Light Challenge - Think Pink!

Happy Saturday, everyone! Today I would like to share with you a card I made for this week's Shining the Light Challenge at the Our Daily Bread designs blog.

This week's challenge, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is to create a Pink project. You do not have to make a cancer-themed project, but it must be pink and include an encouraging sentiment or scripture verse.

For my sample, I have used the "Christmas Rose" stamp, colored with SU markers and ink pads(with sponge daubers), then cut out with paper snips and an exacto knife, popped up with foam tape over an "Elegant Oval Frames" border (stamped using the rock-n-roll technique with Caramel and pink ), which was matted with a die from the "ODBD Elegant Oval" set. The scripture verse from "Christmas Door" was stamped directly onto the Memory Box "Mistletoe" designer paper. The May Arts crocheted lace bow was tied using a Bow Easy tool. Several sprays of "Irridescent Gold" Glimmer Mist was added for a sparkly finish.

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Christmas Rose', 'Christmas Door', and 'Elegant Oval Frames';
Ink: Stazon Timber Brown, SU Creamy Caramel, Rose Romance, Old Olive;
Cardstock: SU Rose Romance and Very Vanilla;
Designer Paper: Memory Box 'Mistletoe';
Accessories: Bow Easy, Elegant Ovals Dies, May Arts Crocheted Lace, CM Corner Rounder, 'Irridescent Gold' Glimmer Mist, Gemstones by Nestabling, Paper Piercer and template, sponge daubers, foam tape, Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner (to stamp the scripture straight on the dsp.);
Size: 5-1/2 square.

Joyous New Year!

Happy Sunday, everyone! I was up late, due to an excellent late night cup of coffee, so I thought I would check out the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast. This week's featured stamper is Deb Saaranen, a former ODBD DT sister.....yay, Deb!

Deb has the most beautiful Clean and Simple cards around....you have to check out her gallery! I chose this gorgeous card due to the layout and double layer of designer paper. I've been saving this SEI "Winter Song" designer paper, so thought this would be a good excuse to use it!

The Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast this week is to choose an item from the Liberty store...I chose this bracelet....blue, silver, and pearl.....what a beautiful combo!!

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Christmas Door';
Cardstock: (Card Base) SU Whisper White;
Designer Paper: SEI 'Winter Song';
Ink: Stazon Jet Black;
Accesories: Prima Flowers, Zva Creative Pearls, May Arts Crocheted Lace, Paper Piercer and Template;

Christian Paper Crafts "Give Thanks" Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday, everyone! Come and join us for the Christian Paper Crafts "Give Thanks" Blog Hop at the CPC Creative Blog! Create a card, layout, altered item, etc., with the theme of "Give Thanks" and link up for a chance to win a prize! Please see the hop post for all of the deets!

For my sample today, I dusted off one of my fave Stampin Up sets, "Happy Harmony"....the whole card came to be because of the scripture stamp in this set. Once everything was stamped and put together, I realized that the Peach Parfait and black looked a bit Halloween-ish, so I highlighted the stamped flowers with Star Dust Stickles to coordinate with the Prima Flowers. If I could do it over, I would not have used black for the flowers, but I was too far in to deconstruct it!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Stampin Up 'Happy Harmony';
Cardstock: SU Peach Parfait and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: SU Patterns Pack III;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Peach Parfait and Old Olive;
Accessories: May Arts Crocheted Lace and Satin Ribbon, Rhinestones by Queen and Co, Prima Flowers, Star Dust Stickles, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares, Bow Easy.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to link up your project at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog!

CARS Birthday Card!

Happy Friday, everyone! This is a birthday card for my nephew, Ethan, who is turning three, and is nuts over the CARS movies! It's amazing to me how kids can memorize an entire movie, reciting word for word and gestures too, even from another room while the movie is playing!

Today's Free4All Challenge at Splitcoast is "Cards With Character"....too create a card for someone according to their likes or hobbies. This one definitely fits the bill!

Okay, so there is no stamping on the front.....the signs and characters were recycled from a Town House cracker box, but the ocean, sky, and road were sponged to create the rest of the scene.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a very blessed weekend!

Christian Paper Crafts Praise & Paper Crafts Challenges!

Hi everyone! Christian Paper Crafts had their quarterly Praise And Paper Craft Night on Friday, with four fun challenges! It was a blast hanging out with everyone last night...now to get my cards uploaded! You have until Sunday noon EDT to upload your projects to qualify for a Gift Certificate from Our Daily Bread designs, who is the sponsor of the PPN this time around...thanks, Kelley!!

For the 1st PPN Challenge, there were two color combos to choose from (photo samples above). I loved them both, so I made one project for each! This card (which I can't believe I made in under an hour!), was in my mind yesterday as soon as my DH told me I had happy mail, which included these adorable jingle bells! The bells led me to the new ODBD set, 'Holiday Ornaments', plus Jonia's colors and voila!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Holiday Ornaments';
Cardstock: SU Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White;
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, SU Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Going Gray;
Accessories: SEI twine, SU silver bells, Nestabling pearls, CB Damask EF, 'Pearl' Glimmer Mist;
Techniques: Clean and Simple, Dry Embossing;
Size: A2.

*****************************************************************************

Since the theme of the PPN is "Gifts From Above", the second challenge was all about gift-wrapping. Create a gift box or package, stamp your own wrapping paper, or decorate a gift bag, etc. I chose to decorate a Kraft gift bag by using several stamps from the Our Daily Bread designs set, Randi's Song, while following the colors in the color challenge above.

I have also used the ODBD Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge, which is to use Fall Colors along with your ODBD stamps...done...and done!!!

This is the full view (above), which shows the bag, plus the tissue paper which was spritzed with 'Mimosa' Glimmer Mist so that it would match the fall colors of the bag. The close-up below shows more of the stamping detail. For a closer look at each view, click on the photos.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Randi's Song';
Cardstock: SU More Mustard (tag);
Ink: SU Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizazz, and More Mustard;
Accessories: Kraft Gift Bag, Spellbinders Nested Maple Leaf Die, SU Buttons and Linen Thread.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed weekend!!

Hope Is An Anchor

Happy Saturday! Wow, is it a gorgeous day here in Indiana! The trees are changing, the fall "smell" is finally in the air...I love it! Though I would love to spend all day outside, I have a lot of stamping to get done....if my family gets any bigger, I may have to start going to Hallmark again.....NOT! :)

This is a birthday card for my brother, Patrick. Since he didn't have any specific requests, I was a little stumped on what to make. Then I saw today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast. I fell in love with the colors of this Sanctuary artwork from the GelaSkins site. This piece led me to some Memory Box "Poppyfinch" paper, which then led me to the "Anchor" set by Our Daily Bread designs.....the rest is history!

Card 'Ingredients':
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Anchor';
Cardstock: SU Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Memory Box 'Poppyfinch';
Ink: SU Soft Suede and Marina Mist (stamped off once for a lighter shade);
Accessories: Paper Piercer, Spellbinders Classic Square Nestabilities and Labels 22, antique brass brads, May Arts Poly Twill, ruler to draw "frame" lines;
Size: 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

Clean and Simple 2nd Birthday!

Hi everyone! This is an extremely clean and simple (should I say plain and simple?!) birthday card which I made for my nephew, Elyas, who turned two this past week. Once I decided on this fun paper, I just couldn't bear to cover it up.....thought he would really enjoy looking at all of the cute animals!!
I used the Clean & Simple Saturday Challenge from Christian Paper Crafts, which was to make designer paper the focus of your project. I love designer paper, so this was a fun challenge for me!

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs 'Mini Tags 3';
Cardstock: SU Marina Mist and Whisper White;
Designer Paper: Basic Grey 'Max and Whiskers';
Ink: SU Marina Mist and Always Artichoke;
Accessories: Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio 3, May Arts Poly Twill, Making Memories Brads, sponge dauber, paper piercer and template;

For my sample today, I have used the Christmas Rose stamp to create my own designer paper.....the rose was stamped in Mellow Moss and sponged with Pink Pirouette. The scripture verse is from the "Christmas Door" set, and the gorgeous border around the scripture, designed by our mega-talented DT sister, Lorelie Kim, is the "Elegant Ovals" set which matches the custom Spellbinder/ODBD "Elegant Ovals Dies". The pink flourish is a die cut, "Fanciful Flourish", by Cheery Lynn Designs. Zva Creative Pearls, May Arts Satin Trim, and "Pearl" Glimmer Mist were added for the finishing touches.

Now, back to the hop! Your next stop will be with the super sweet and talented, Sandee! Prepare for your socks to get knocked off!!!! :)

Enjoy the rest of the hop....hope you will be a winner!!

Have a very blessed weekend!
